PC LOAD LETTER: Weaver95: this week is 'rage' week. NEXT week is 'conspiracy theory' week. week #3 is 'purge the moderates and stage a bloody palace revolution' week.

Sounds like the stages of grief on bizzaro world.

The 5 right-wing authoritarian stages of grief:
Denial
Anger
Scapegoating/Conspiracy theories
Purges
Invade Poland

Karl Rove will not lose any status in the republican party about this. First off, he has too much money and too many connections for them to use as a sacrificial lamb. He's the brains of the beast and it dies without him. Secondly, everyone else in the GOP bought into the same predictions he did. If they blame his judgement and powers of perception, they have to blame their own as well. That's why everything needs to be blamed on external reasons. Karl Rove is not going anywhere. People like this never replace their leaders, no matter how many battles they lose. He's their Cobra Commander. Foiled plot after foiled plot yet still rules them. I mean, maybe they do replace him. Maybe they create a Serpentor to usurp Cobra Commander's power. They'd probably have to raid various tombs of past leaders like Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, and Napoleon to steal the DNA to clone this great leader, but that will never happen because as I understand it you need stem cells and stuff, and they don't believe in that. Plus re-using DNA from dead leaders would probably be akin to aborting a fetus in the 4,000th trimester. They may also need that DNA in heaven. Where was I? Oh yeah. Rove is here for a while, yet.

For Karl Rove to lose it like this, there must've been a big Republican scandal to secure Ohio for Romney that completely failed/collapsed. I suspect something to come out about it in the next year.

It was kind of beautiful on election night. Around 9:50 Central Time, Fox called Ohio for Obama. There was this broken look on all of them, where just for a single second, the echo chamber fell apart. It was like getting mooned by bigfoot in a UFO - no one will ever believe me, but I saw it.

Weaver95: the triptophan will have them flat out cold in a food coma inside of three hours.

The good news is that tryptophan doesn't actually make you sleepy- there simply isn't enough of it in turkey. The bad news is that the sleepiness comes from over-eating. If they could somehow pilot a rascal with one hand and a turkey leg in the other, I think they might have a strategy.

i'm sorry but scheduling is rather tight on this. the manual CLEARLY says that week #3 is purge the moderates and storm the palace gates'. you can't give people turkey before the violent revolution, the triptophan will have them flat out cold in a food coma inside of three hours.

Wow. A Republican accuses Obama of the exact thing the GOP is guilty of. What a refreshingly new strategy. Surely this will endear them to a younger and more diverse voter-base, setting them up for victory in the next election.

Maybe we can give Rove and the rest of the GOP some nice blankets--a peace offering to comfort them.

Pichu0102: GleeUnit: You know, it's weird...

It's almost like he took hundreds of millions of dollars from some of the nation's most wealthy and powerful people, promising sweeping victories for their candidates and causes, and is now flailing around desperately trying to shift the blame away from himself after he returned absolutely zero success.

Kind of like an inept gambler trying to convince his mob-associated bookie not to break his thumbs after pissing his money away.

You know, in the movies, this generally ends a lot worse for the guy than broken thumbs.

Interesting theory. Given that the GOP always accuses the other side of doing what they're actually doing, you may very well be right.

Nadie_AZ: Rove's antics actually kept Romney from making a decision to concede earlier in the night.

That's pretty telling. Romney wasn't paying attention to the ground game anymore. All Fox all the time. With the man running the largest Super PAC going crazy on air. Fox really does have that party by the balls.

Maybe, just maybe, that's the entire point. Maybe the grand purpose of FOX is to troll the Republicans to the point where they are no longer even remotely effective.

/can't believe I just typed that.

He's right. The net result of negative campaigning is that some people eventually perceive both sides to be bad and opt out of the process entirely. Of course, what he fails to mention is that he's a primary contributor to this phenomenon.

So, what Karl Rove is in essence saying is that Karl Rove is a horrible, horrible human being. I think we can all agree with that.
