They screw with their workers and suppliers, why should it be surprising that they do the same with their customers?

2012-11-08 01:02:53 PM
At 8 p.m. local time on Thanksgiving, Walmart's offers will include deals on video games starting at $10 and home appliances such as a Crock Pot slow cooker and a Mr. Coffee maker for $9.44 each.

What are the chances of every single Wal-Mart employee in this country goes on strike on Black Friday? 'Cuz that would be cool.

2012-11-08 01:03:43 PM
farkin' Wal-Mart...

2012-11-08 01:03:51 PM
Great. So now the wife's younger brother and his wife, the only other sane ones in the whole group will not be around after 6 because they are hardcore shoppers.

Leaving me with the rest of the family and a whole barrage of...

Oh, fark. Just kill me now.

2012-11-08 01:03:54 PM
And the workers forced to show up on the holiday can be thankful they have such a great job.
I'm sure WalMart will pay time and a half, if not double-time, for their efforts.

2012-11-08 01:03:54 PM
Who eats TG meal at 8pm?

2012-11-08 01:04:21 PM
A strike is the only tool that can change Wal-mart.

2012-11-08 01:04:42 PM
What the fark is wrong with retail in this country? Jesus. Can't even get a farking holiday. And I thought waking up at 3:30 am on Friday morning to be to work at 5:00 was bad. Thankfully I don't work retail anymore.

Wonder if Wal-Mart employees are still going to do the walk out.

2012-11-08 01:05:22 PM
Knock. Yourselves. Out.

/I'll be home stuffing myself with pie

The best thing we can do about this is simply not shop at places like this.
The earlier they open, the more likely I am to just use amazon and newegg to do my shopping.

Do not crucify Santa on a cross of Thanksgiving!

2012-11-08 01:06:40 PM
I'm not rebuttoning my pants for this.

2012-11-08 01:07:33 PM
I'll stick to Amazons online lightning deals, thanks.

2012-11-08 01:07:52 PM
this is not news. walmart is open all day thanksgiving anyway, i think they just shrinkwrap pallets of their blackfriday stuff and leave in the middle of the aisles.

the only day they close is christmas, and i am sure they would stay open if there was a cost benefit to it

2012-11-08 01:07:56 PM
Yes, OUTRAGE!!!! Because you all HAVE TO shop at WalMart. What will we do without $9 coffee makers.

I won't be there because the NFL is forcing me to watch the Detroit Lions. Bastards!

2012-11-08 01:08:29 PM
I just finished all my shpping last night.
Ironically, at the Christmas Tree Shop.

2012-11-08 01:08:29 PM
Pretty soon Christmas will start at the same time as Halloween.

I need to buy some Santa hats for my yard skeletons.

Next year its Target @ 6PM

Didn't Orwell write about this sort of decline in civil common thinking 1984?

2012-11-08 01:09:06 PM
i'll still never understand the allure of black friday.

is it really that important to get people in your store the day after thanksgiving? these people are going to buy shiat either way, might as well spread it out over the month

Oh boy - more crap to buy.

....Black Friday shopping, on the next edition of Hoarders....

Booze is your friend. Failing that, more booze. Failing that, puke in the bathroom. No one wants to be around someone who is pukey and they'll flee fearing food poisoning. At minimum they'll keep their distance while you go nap.

You mean that thing I completely ignore because saving $100 on a TV is not worth having to deal with that many idiots?

This is great! Now you can express your gratitude for all that you have by buying more shiat that you don't need! Melt those credit cards America!

The idea is to cram your stores full of shoppers as early as possible in the season because people typically want shop in as few stores and trips as possible. The BF strategy is to offer a few awesome loss-leaders to attract customers and then hope they continue to shop on less-discounted merchandise ("Well if I'm already here and have to deal with the lines and crowds anyway I might as well finish all my shopping here!") thus concentrating consumer dollars in the stores that offer the best deals earliest in the season. Deals are also offered later in the season, but BF is the biggest retail day of the year for a reason.

I've never gone shopping on BF in my life. Why suffer? Meh.

I look forward to the stories of fistfights, injuries, etc though. Might as well laugh at the fools.

My first, second, and fourth reactions are 'fark that', but my third reaction was seeing $10 video games. I love cheap games. However I probably won't be home by then so I go with my fourth reaction.

Your definition of 'sane' must differ from mine if it includes going shopping at 8:00pm on Thanksgiving.

Either that, or the rest of your family is REALLY nuts.

I wonder how many instances of people using Mace will occur this time around. Wal-mart should put it on sale so people can replenish.

And fark all of you that participate in the "black Friday" disgusting display of selfishness and consumerism, too.
