Gloating: the girl's young friend mocked the lioness who let her 'prey' get away

Please don't mock the dynamite lioness.

Makes me feel a wee bit sad for the lioness. Makes me want to hug her and pet her and tell her everything's going to be alright. Then she'd probably eat me.

The lioness appeared vaguely disappointed after his young visitors ran away

Is this some new asinine Brit grammar thing like the "government are?" Are all lions male like all French houses are female?

After watching both parts of that, I really wanted to see their reaction if the glass just started to audibly crack a bit... Does that make me a bad person?

It was pretty cruel of those parents to dress their kid up as a zebra and then taunt the lion with him.

I had a snow leopard (I think) stalk me once crawling up to the glass at the zoo. It definitely gave me the heebie jeebies. That little girl is apparently braver than I am.

No, it's colloquially referred to as "an error." Look at the next caption and you'll see that they properly use "her" in the sentence.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.

I realize lions like to eat people (happens in Africa what, couple times a year at least?), but that one mostly looks curious. Same expression my cats get when they're feeling playful. Granted that often turns into biting, so it could just be a precursor to 'hungry'.

The Lincoln Park Zoo here in Chicago has a similar window at their lion exhibit. One time when I was there a male lion was leaning against the glass, looking the other way. Gathered around the glass was a group of young school kids and two chaperones. A bunch of the kids were pounding on the glass, trying to get his attention, but the lion would not look at them. Then, the lion let out a massive roar! Those kids scattered in a dozen different directions, screaming, while the two chaperones stood there looking helpless. It was hilarious.
