Satanic_Hamster: Rove may have some angry donors on the line, reports the Huffington Post. "The billionaire donors I hear are livid," a Republican operative told the HuffPo. "There is some holy hell to pay. Karl Rove has a lot of explaining to do ... I don't know how you tell your donors that we spent $390 million and got nothing."Been saying this since Tuesday night. Rich Republican donors, you're been lie to for six months. For six months people like Rove have been telling you this was a sure thing, if only you kept the money flowing. Now you've spent all this money only to learn that all the rasmussen polls that they were SWEARING TO YOU were super accurate were all bullshiat to trick you. Now you've spent all this money and the angry black man knows who you are and what you did to fight him and he's going to remember. So what are you going to do in the future, rich guys? Keep funding the people who lie to your face and piss off the ones who keep winning? Keep your money and stay out of it next time? Maybe start giving to the Democrats in an effort to control or influence them?
Hotdog453: You don't get to be a billionaire by being completely stupid. This can't come as that big of a shock. They HAD to have seen the other side of things; the reports calling for an Obama victory, Obama polls, etc.
Smackledorfer: Rove should have ZERO explaining to do. He should be able to walk away and never say another word to these farkers. As much as I dislike Rove, donating to a political campaign or PAC is nothing if not buyer beware.
Misch: iaazathot: Whoa, didn't know about the second guy. Yeah, Republicans are in no way evil...I was thinking Ted Stevens.
dericwater: impaler: Great_Milenko: Agreed. A michelle bachmann loss would have made it a perfect day, but I guess every Christmas has it's pair of socks.Bachmann and King. My only 2 disappointments Tuesday night.Actually, since their claws are all but clipped, it's great to have those two hanging around continuing to make a mockery of the GOP. I'd bet that if there were any two that Rove wanted to see not stay in office, the two you named would be on the top of that list. They're the most face-palmingly disturbed GOP office holders to remind voters of what a stupid party it has. They're worse than Allan West only because West doesn't get on the air as often as these two. Even the pro-rape candidates are not as nationally well known as those two jokers.
KarmicDisaster: [public.dcexp.com image 640x464]Here is what we got at the disaster house. This is what Romney's money purchased, it must cost, what a couple bucks per mailing in postage, printing, transportation and staff time. We got one single piece of Obama literature and one piece for Tammy Baldwin. There were also 2 to 6 robo calls per day from the Republicans for the last 4 months, and 2 total calls from the Dems, one of which was a real person. I know that the purpose of this stuff is to make people mad so that they get out and vote "Obama sent your job to China!" "Obama destroyed Medicare!" "Obama killed babies!" but it can certainly backfire if you don't do it right. A lot of money was blown.
phaseolus: Oh and another thing -- from the Huffpo article that tfa links to:"I don't think anyone on our side understood or comprehended how good their turnout was going to be," said Henry Barbour, a Republican committee man from Mississippi. "The Democrats do voter registration like a factory, like a business, and Republicans tend to leave it to the blue hairs."Could Barbour be any more insulting??!? Okay, last summer I went to an OFA Obama campaign volunteers' meeting held in a very nice retirement high rise overlooking the lake, and a lot of residents attended. I had never before been in a room with so many brainy people, ever. Dismissing many of his volunteers as "blue hairs" -- probably his hardest-working, most dedicated workers at that -- bespeaks some ... shortcomings on Barbour's part. If they didn't get the job done for him, it probably points to serious organizational issues. And since Barbour can't deign to show them love and respect, it shows he's personally out of touch with his own organization and the electorate at large, that he doesn't care to be in touch, and that he's an asshole.
2wolves: If I was Mr Rove I would stay away from traveling in light aircraft. Wouldn't be prudent.
doyner: Maybe, just maybe, those donors should have used that money to lure a Republican capable of winning into the primaries.
Bf+: iaazathot: Megyn Kelly to Karl Rove: "Is this just math that you do as a Republican to make yourself feel better, or is it real?"Does she still have a job?[t0.gstatic.com image 259x194]I'd say so.
Type_Hard: He's coming for you Rove...[i45.tinypic.com image 600x800]
Martin Silenus: Render him down for the salt!Rove is going to end up stuffed and mounted. His credibility is shot to Hell. Prepare for the rise of a new neocon hatchet-man over the next four years.
iaazathot: Whoa, didn't know about the second guy. Yeah, Republicans are in no way evil...
The First Four Katy Perry Albums: Romney gets to go live out his life on a big farm in the country right? Where he can run and play with other wealthy white males all day long in the sunshine and never have to think about bad, mean old Dumbocrats ever again?
mrmyxolodian: The man won one election and one lawsuit. Why do people take him so seriously?
Aarontology: NeverDrunk23: Oh no, someone got something. People got to see him make a complete fool of himself, demanding FOX NEWS to stop calling for Obama. That was definitely worth $390 Million of someone else's money.kbronsito: I don't think these people got rich by making bad investments. Whatever they expected to get paid back by having a president on their pocket, the party will have to make up by using their congresscritters to benefit these backers.I think this time around they bought their own hype and thought they could actually buy an election. Just because they're rich doesn't mean they're not morons.
vernonFL: Maybe now you libs will quit biatching about billionaires buying elections and Citizens United and Corporations.
theorellior: Smackledorfer: Rove should have ZERO explaining to do. He should be able to walk away and never say another word to these farkers. As much as I dislike Rove, donating to a political campaign or PAC is nothing if not buyer beware.Rich people didn't get to be rich by believing that "caveat emptor" applies to them.Nicky's methods of betting weren't scientific, but they worked. When he won, he collected. When he lost, he told the bookies to go fark themselves. I mean, what were they going to do, muscle Nicky? Nicky was the muscle.
