I don't know how you tell your donors that we spent $390 million and got nothing."

Karl you should just write them a really apologetic suicide note.

2012-11-08 12:07:10 PM
Clearly there should be a tax credit for political expenditures. Poors get to write off their gambling losses. Damn government.

I haven't even had time yet to be happy for Obama. I've spent the last two days laughing at the look on Karl's face when the election got called. It's the same face I hope he has when the pilot announces, "Sorry, folks, our regularly-scheduled Dulles-to-Chicago flight has been rerouted to The Hague."

2012-11-08 12:23:11 PM
Maybe, just maybe, those donors should have used that money to lure a Republican capable of winning into the primaries.

2012-11-08 12:23:46 PM
This is unquestionably the best part of this election.

Yes, better than Obama getting re-elected. Much better. Better than the utter spanking the Tea Party took across the board.

God damn I have a boner.

2012-11-08 12:27:21 PM
Hara-kiri is such a vulgar word, Karl. Try seppuku instead.

2012-11-08 12:28:04 PM
I seriously cannot tell you how happy it makes me that these arrogant oligarchic human pubic lice spent hundreds of millions of dollars confident they could buy this election, believing their own god complex, and got zilch. Nadaski. Zero. Zippo. Not even a single added seat in Congress.

I tell you it renews my faith in humanity. Its like the movie Trading Places, but better and real. My only regret is that I can't be in the head of guys like Sheldon Adelson to bask in the rage and confusion at their little glass sphere being shattered completely.

hahahahahahahahaha

Karl Rove is done. Too many people see right through his belligerent propaganda game anymore. That might've worked in 2000 and 2004, but we're a lot wiser now.

All I can say to him is...

I need to see that video. I saw the clip on Daily Show where Megyn Kelly calls him out, but they didn't play his reaction.

Oh my dear lord, I would not want to be in Karl Rove's 12 wides right now. No sir. Not at all.

Oh no, someone got something. People got to see him make a complete fool of himself, demanding FOX NEWS to stop calling for Obama.

In a thread some months ago, I seem to recall some farker saying "Don't underestimate the effect of $1 Billion in superpac money on the election". Hard to estimate less than zero.

Now let's hope it takes one or two more rounds of wasting enormous sums on people like Rove (but not Rove) before they get the idea and quit doing it.

2012-11-08 12:32:24 PM
I imagine the conversation will go something like this:

"WHERE'S MY MONEY? *SLAP* WHERE'S MY MONEY? *BACKHAND SLAP* WHERE'S MY MONEY? *SLAP* WHERE'S MY MONEY? *BACKHAND SLAP* WHERE'S MY MONEY? *SLAP* WHERE'S MY MONEY? *BACKHAND SLAP* WHERE'S MY MONEY? *SLAP* WHERE'S MY MONEY? *BACKHAND SLAP* WHERE'S MY MONEY? *SLAP* WHERE'S MY MONEY? *BACKHAND SLAP* WHERE'S MY MONEY? *SLAP* WHERE'S MY MONEY? *BACKHAND SLAP* WHERE'S MY MONEY?"

They got less than nothing.

Their efforts did the exact opposite of what was intended. Their regressive bullshiat actually provoked the younger voters into showing up again.

People get into habits like that. Pretty soon, you're not going to need to prod them to get them to vote.

2012-11-08 12:33:00 PM
I don't think Rove is the major problem. He did play a big role in creating this monster, but he also seems to be one of the first Republicans to grasp that they farked up and need to put the monster down. The Teabaggers who farked up the House and put our credit rating in danger during the budget crisis, they need to be taken behind the woodshed.

2012-11-08 12:33:07 PM
If I was Mr Rove I would stay away from traveling in light aircraft. Wouldn't be prudent.

I don't think these people got rich by making bad investments. Whatever they expected to get paid back by having a president on their pocket, the party will have to make up by using their congresscritters to benefit these backers.

2012-11-08 12:33:34 PM
Rove should have ZERO explaining to do. He should be able to walk away and never say another word to these farkers. As much as I dislike Rove, donating to a political campaign or PAC is nothing if not buyer beware.

Not that these douchebags are going to recoup any of their losses, mind you, but if I were Rove I would just shrug and retire.

Rove may have some angry donors on the line, reports the Huffington Post. "The billionaire donors I hear are livid," a Republican operative told the HuffPo. "There is some holy hell to pay. Karl Rove has a lot of explaining to do ... I don't know how you tell your donors that we spent $390 million and got nothing."

Been saying this since Tuesday night. Rich Republican donors, you're been lie to for six months. For six months people like Rove have been telling you this was a sure thing, if only you kept the money flowing. Now you've spent all this money only to learn that all the rasmussen polls that they were SWEARING TO YOU were super accurate were all bullshiat to trick you. Now you've spent all this money and the angry black man knows who you are and what you did to fight him and he's going to remember.

So what are you going to do in the future, rich guys? Keep funding the people who lie to your face and piss off the ones who keep winning? Keep your money and stay out of it next time? Maybe start giving to the Democrats in an effort to control or influence them?

2012-11-08 12:34:23 PM
That's too bad. He's so good at getting Dems elected, I was thinking of sending him a check.

Hey, they're actually putting money into the economy and actually creating jobs with money they would otherwise just horde.

I can't believe I am saying this, but God bless Citizens United.

2012-11-08 12:35:04 PM
Obviously, somebody made a mistake and didn't do things right. There's no question about that

Why can't they see the obvious: THE AMERICAN PEOPLE HATE WHAT YOU STAND FOR.

Rich people didn't get to be rich by believing that "caveat emptor" applies to them.

Hey, Karl, look on the bright side. You're going to be one of the very few people who know where Jimmy Hoffa is buried.

I posted this to my FB page yesterday, got some LOLs:

Completely on the level, I have to thank Sheldon Adelson and the Brothers Koch for stimulating the economy so much through their shady but ultimately legal campaign financing shenanigans. Many local media stations, advertising agencies, production houses and talented creative staff thank you for your donations. We're so glad you poured millions into a losing investment!

No time like the present to get started showing them their errors.

That was definitely worth $390 Million of someone else's money.

I think this time around they bought their own hype and thought they could actually buy an election. Just because they're rich doesn't mean they're not morons.

I'm sure enough of the money ended up in Rove's pocket that he doesn't give a rat's ass if the donors are upset.

Nicky's methods of betting weren't scientific, but they worked. When he won, he collected. When he lost, he told the bookies to go fark themselves. I mean, what were they going to do, muscle Nicky? Nicky was the muscle.

You don't get to be a billionaire by being completely stupid. This can't come as that big of a shock. They HAD to have seen the other side of things; the reports calling for an Obama victory, Obama polls, etc.

So, pissed? Sure. Stunned? I have a hard time believing that. This was only a "shock" to those completely in their own little world. Which, I guess, they may have been...

"There is some holy hell to pay. Karl Rove has a lot of explaining to do ... I don't know how you tell your donors that we spent $390 million and got nothing."

They got less then nothing, the donors allied themselves with the losers. I think we found our first group people so rich they have more than they can use, obviously higher taxes won't be a problem for them.

I promise you... no matter how smart someone is, or how much money they have, nobody is immune to groupthink and echo chambers.

Render him down for the salt!

Rove is going to end up stuffed and mounted. His credibility is shot to Hell. Prepare for the rise of a new neocon hatchet-man over the next four years.

You would think all these CEOs and moguls would have been able to spot a bad investment. It's almost as though business and politics are two different things.
