With all due respect to the folks at Gawker, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Bill Nye are not "ridiculous" write ins. They're just silly.

/"Peanut Farmer" would be ridiculous.

People who write in candidates in a critical election are sorely wanting a good cockpunch.

I vote in MD - bluer than the insides of 7th-grade-boys' gym shorts. I thought about writing in a candidate. Then I thought about voting Jill Stein. Then I got to the booth and figured "Fark it, it's not like poll workers will be like 'Hey, check out this guy. Voted for a Troy Sanders/Brann Dailor ticket. I dunno who they are either, let's check 'em out.'"

And then no further ballots could be counted WHEN THEY SEE THE WHITE WHALE!!!

There's a huge difference between what they (=you) might think and what they're actually doing.

You mean by sending an important message that they were clearly not enamoured with the platform of either candidate, rather than voting for someone they didn't actually support thus creating a false mandate or staying home which could be misinterpreted as a problem with GOTV drives?

Well, if its a legitimate third party candidate, people have every right. But if someones voting for a movie or cartoon character just to be cute? Yeah, break out the boxing glove.

Ron Paul should probably kill himself if he can't even get onto the same ballot as Roseanne Barr.

If you look down in the comments, somebody wrote in Turd Ferguson instead of voting for John Boehner. I approve.

I know what you THINK you THINK they were doing.

Reality says otherwise, that they're irresponsible idiots who either aren't informed enough or they have some ridiculous grudge against Obama, and yes, I'm guessing skin color comes into play.

Because otherwise, they'd be voting Jill Stein, Gary Johnson or some other credible candidate who took the time to get his/her sh*t on all 50 ballots.

Deal with it.

I wrote in Jill Stein. She wasn't on the ballot in Wyoming.
