Serious question- The uncounted in Maricopa are more than Penzone and Carmona "lost" by. How do we know for sure they actually lost? A lot of the early voters were of the sort that might vote for those two. I realize they won't all be for the same folks, but shouldn't they have less then half a million uncounted before they call votes?

monoski: I would have thought 600k was all of them. Had no idea that many people lived in that dusty wasteland

4.5 million in the Valley, I don't know how many more in the rest of the state.

Of that total, nearly 460,000 votes still haven't been counted in Maricopa County, and that's complicating the ability to call several close races throughout Arizona.

Hmm...and Sheriff Joe only got 53% of the (counted) vote...wonder who all those provisional ballots voted for?

They have another 8 days or so to get everything counted, and I'm sure a number of people will be saddling up some lawyers to get this figured out.

And we're done here.

Early ballots uncounted as well. Mine was for Penzone. I wish I could afford to move.

You could sort of slide over to New Mexico. It's really not that far, and the climate is similar.

Vegan Meat Popsicle: Funny how almost every time we hear about something incredibly stupid happening politically in Arizona the word "Maricopa" comes up.

I'm starting to think Arpaio isn't really a problem, but more of a symptom.

Maricopa tag to mimic the Florida tag?

Tucson ain't that bad, it's actually pretty nice. Then again, my fond memories of Tucson are with friends and relatives.

qorkfiend: Funnily enough, Mitt Romney's margin in Arizona was less than 200,000 votes.

Arizona would be more than a fair trade for North Carolina, and I wonder if that swings the house or senate in any way....
