They think it's the lower cholesterol that is decreasing the cancer risk. But the article spun it in a way to make the drug manufacturers happy.

How about antineoplastons? Those are still tumor-killers, right? Maybe in another 30 years, the FDA/NCI will run an actual trial on them...

// just saw "Burzynski" (the documentary, with statistics!) the other night
// fascinating

i'd just like to add to that, given the choice between living for 15 years on Statins and maybe 7 or 8 without them, my gran made the choice to stop taking them....if early death is preferably to taking them...then I think that says a lot.

But tying statins is really hard, even when you have small tweezers.

I was on statins for a couple of weeks. Yeah, I'd rather die early than be on that crap.

Stalin probably resulted in fewer cancer deaths due to increased risk of intracranial lead poisoning.

I got put on a statin the other week, I've had no side effects. Well possibly insomnia the first 3 nights, but that went away.

Yeah, given the choice between the side effects my family has encountered (none), and the side effects of open-heart surgery, I've been hailing statins for a while now.
