This guy is a moron.

If he thinks that Obama is going to trash the economy he should be happy.

When the world goes to shiat... moderately well-off people buy jewelry to show that they still CAN buy jewelry.

When the world is doing great.. previously poor people buy jewelry... to show that they can.

Unless the economy collapses completely to the "10 days from cannibalism" level, he's gonna be fine if he knows what he is doing.

The child of my cousin, a ten year old girl, woke up from a nightmare last night crying, saying she was terrified that Obama was going to ruin the country. A ten year old. It's probably relevant that my cousin is co-owner of a sleazy predatory lending company, and Republican.

One of my cousins is completely unhinged right now and posted some crap on Facebook about how Pres. Obama being re-elected would bring the Wrath of God down upon this country. Unfortunately the idiot has a lot of time to fume because he is home recuperating from heart surgery brought on by his failure to control his weight and Diabetes. ;?P This is the same fool who was a wastrel druggie before he became this born-again lunatic.

I hope your cousin recovers. And 'born-again?' It always seems like drug addicts never really get clean. They just go from one drug to another.

Who knows what they're filling that poor child's head with. The kid was born into a millionaire family, and has very little to worry about. Yet, the re-election of a moderate President is for some reason terrifying. She probably has been told, or thinks that Obama is going to take away her Mom and Dad's business, or some other such nonsense.

CA is underfunded on its state pensions to the tune of 300 BILLION dollars and rising. Not sure if CA is a model of how we should do things.

the reddest states have the fattest and most poverty ridden populations, probably not the way to go either.

So wait you're saying that the poor people vote against stealing other people's money?

Those states only show up as "poor" because they've got more people farming their own food so they don't need money. Cell coverage is weak so they don't need iPhones. They're hard working so they don't need TV.

Think about how much money Obama brings Republican media interests. Instead of having to gloss over facts with smiles and graphics, they
slander bis-a-vie "just asking questions" type journalism. All networks get a benefit from a news agency that is willing to ask a random question about a topic and call it news. Just re-report it with whatever politically charged bias you feel like! You now have a news cycle.

Whichever your political leanings might be, you watch the commercials. That's whats really important to "Media interests".
Seriously. It's their bread and butter. Four more years of quality paying ad slots on the Brainwash Network will re-coup any losses, rest assured. Do you know how hard it would have been to cover up the actuality of a Romney administration for that length of time?

Keizer_Ghidorah: I thought that small businesses had a lot of positive things passed for them the last few years. Why are they still terrified that he's going to destroy them?

Because they were told by the GOP that they should be terrified. That's it, really. Any small business owner who doesn't recognize what bennies they've received in the last four years, probably shouldn't be a small business owner, to be honest, so I suspect this chucklehead's melodrama is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Thunderpipes: LA Times article about the exodus from CA.

Link

The proportion of Californians who had moved here from out of state reached a 100-year low of about 20% in 2010, and the decade measured by the most recent census was the first in a century in which the majority of Californians were native-born.

The demographics of California today more closely resemble those of 1900 than of 1950: It is a mostly home-grown population, whose future depends on the children of immigrants and their children, said William Frey, a demographer and senior fellow at the Brookings Institution.

Future is not very bright for CA, and raising taxes all you want won't put a dent in the budget issues, and will just slow the economy more and create migration out. Kind of like what Obama is doing nationally.

So.. what is the solution then?

Thats weird as hell growing up my parents would never stress me out with politics. I remember asking them about the Carter/Regan election and them talking to me about it but nothing like "Oh he is the devil and the country will go to hell if he is elected". We would talk about the questions and other things that were voted on and they would explain to me either way what would happen. But damn nightmares thats effed up.
