Look I know your trying very hard to create the narrative that all socialised health care will mean death panels and having to wait 5 years to get stiches but can you please use another country apart from mine as an example. It is just rude to keep picking on us, I mean we don't splash headlines all over the place whenever anyone in the US dies from an easily preventable condition or when poor people have to live with crippling debt or pain due to your horrible inefficient for profit healthcare. Admittedly we would need a lot of headlines to do that but the point still stands.

You Brits need more of a killer instinct. Where's the fire that took over 2/3rds of the world?

Disturbing too. I am going to have bad dreams about this.

Always remember to spay or neuter your pet rat. Preferably in the operating room.

That's a really, really good reason to cancel some surgeries. Good on the hospital for noticing it, good on 'em for not covering it up and good jerb for taking steps to fix the whole mess without anyone getting hurt.

Rodents of unacceptable sterility? I don't think they exist.

So, no word on the rats qualifications?
I'll bet it was better skilled than some of them there..!

At least they shut it down. At Halifax here in Florida, they'd have squashed it and smuggled
it out with the other bloody detritus after the operation.

NSCSB time...

I went to see my uncle in the ICU @ Halifax a couple of months ago. There was blood - fresh
AND dried - on the rails of his bed, gauze w/ blood on it on the floor, and medical supplies
wrappers littering the floor under my uncle's bed. It was NASTY.

When they brought in his lunch, the nurse was a real biatch. There was a cup of fruit juice
on it and my uncle questioned whether he was allowed to have it (the previous shift dr. said
no). So the nurse grabs it out of his hand and dumps it in the sink. She says 'fine I'll bring
you a diet soda'. Well he wasn't supposed to have those either for whatever reason and
when my uncle told the nurse she was like "Fine! I tried to work with you - if you're going to
be like that you can go without!"

I very politely approached her and told her I understood that my uncle was on limited liquids
but that since he was already down one drink due to the juice being taken away, if he could
just have water or unsweetened tea or something instead. She glared at me and snapped
"He had his chance...now he can just wait!"

Halifax is the worst damn hospital in the Daytona area. What's more, they KNOW they are
bad. They deliberately keep attorneys from most of the area law firms on retainer so that
none of the local firms can ever take on a malpractice case. They've manufactured a very
deliberate conflict of interest.

Grrrrr...

Keep the Tea coming. Just keep it coming. We're all quiet and happy just so long as the tea can be made.

Besides we decided it was far funnier to invade the world with our turns of phrases.... ever heard someone with a deep southern (American) accent say "Tits on a fish" or someone from Japan say "Bollocks"?

Brilliant! And nobody notices as our invasion continues....soon you'll all be British.
