roc6783: Mike_LowELL: KillAllHumans: what a shiatty list and a shiatty article. how about more than just a few sentences if these games are so farking great.just because a game is important doesnt mean its great.I hope you feel bad for posting this crap, subby.http://www.learntocounter.com/top-ten-reasons-your-video-game-list-b lo ws/Obligatory self-promotion.Your blog sucks/obligatory response
PirateKing: "Retro" does not mean the same thing as "Classic", which is just a way of saying "old and popular".Still, an excellent list of classic games.
MrEricSir: Retro? None of these are retro. They're actual old games.
purple kool-aid and a jigger of formaldehyde: lordargent: No love for bubble bub and bobble bob :(YES YES YES.Came here to say this. My friend Matt and I spent LOTS of money on Bubble Bobble. We knew where every 7-11 was that had one in it.I always tell this story when discussing Bubble Bobble. The ports of the game to the consoles and even the ROM that is floating around isn't the same as the original stand up game. There were secret boards that do not exist in any of the ported versions that I have played. To get to them neither player could die until you got a key that was on like board 80 (but it wasn't an even number board like that) - after someone got the key, one of you could die, but the other one couldn't. If you did get this key and not die, a door just like the diamond boards (that you get for not dying on the board's 20 40 and 60) would appear on board 99 in the "box" that is in the middle of the board. This door would take you past 100 to boards 01 through F which if you got through then you would get board 100 and the true happy ending for beating the giant drunk./We did it at the 7-11 at the mouth of Big Cottonwood canyon
RoxtarRyan: ManOfTeal: Why has no one re-made this yet:[upload.wikimedia.org image 256x377]/Wonders how many of you remember it.....Remember it? Hell, I still can't find an un-corrupted ROM of it to this day to run through it again. I never beat it, but remember playing the shiat out of it.No love for FF, Chrono Trigger, or Star Tropics? Loved those games.
WTF PEOPLE??How does THIS not make the list AND not get mentioned at all in this thread??For shame!!

poot_rootbeer: "Retro" apparently means "I am too young to have played these games when they were new, but I heard some old guys talking about these on Xbox Live once so I downloaded the ROMs."
Nemo's Brother: You can't really argue with Super Mario 3 being #1, but I think Ms. Pac-Man should be 1 or 2. That game is still fun. Same with Dig Dug.
Jedekai: Nemo's Brother: You can't really argue with Super Mario 3 being #1, but I think Ms. Pac-Man should be 1 or 2. That game is still fun. Same with Dig Dug.Console 8-bit titles? SMB3? Surely, you jest:[upload.wikimedia.org image 250x365]Best graphics, story, challenge and sound in the ENTIRE 8-bit era.
The Angry Hand of God: No River City Ransom. List is utter fail.

Seriously great memories. Is that F-19 Stealth Fighter I see at the end there?I played the shiat out of that game on the 486DX-33. Won the game's Medal of Honor one time, when I basically leveled Poland. Good times./Also caught Carmen Sandiego
