Too precious. I would volunteer to feed them too.
Oh hell, who am I kidding? I'd pay them to let me hold one.

Those farkers are mean little assholes. There's a reason you don't see any Aussies at the petting zoos that house them - we know what those claws are for.

People who use "noming" to caption a picture used online need a kick in the pants. There are plenty of appropriate verbs that could be used in this situation(drinking, eating, slurping, gulping, consuming)....

Fun fact: instead of regurgitating food like a mother bird does for her young, koala mothers will defecate and feed the fecal matter to theirs.

I learned this on Animal Planet (or one of those channels) and have never looked at koalas the same way since.

He's a 2/3-month old rescue koala...

WTF is this shiat? Is it 2 to 3 months old and you don't know how to properly express that? Is it 20 days old?

There was a time when publications had editorial standards.

Reminded me of this - haven't laughed so hard in ages

The thieves originally planned to take one of the zoo's koalas and only changed tack after it proved too vicious, 21-year-old zookeeper Wil Kemp told smh.com.au. He had been told by police that four people were involved in the wildlife heist, which allegedly involved stealing a koala and swapping it for drugs.

"[But] apparently [the koala] scratched the shiat out of them.'' "The blokes have quite a lot of scratches and lacerations caused by the koala.''

The thieves then decided to take a crocodile instead.

If it makes you feel better, they only eat a special kind of feces in order to get the gut flora that will allow them to digest eucalyptus leaves. It's not like the mother provides the joey sustenance with her own shiat.

You've got to go to Woolloongabba for that kind of refinement.
In Mercy, if you're not pulling fur and pouch meat out of your teeth you send it back.

Fossil koala skulls seem to suggest that their brains have been steadily shrinking for millions of years.

"The brain in the ancestors of the modern koala once filled the whole cranial cavity, but has become drastically reduced in the present species, a degeneration scientists suspect is an adaptation to a diet low in energy.[17] One of the smallest in marsupials with no more than 0.2% of its body weight,[18] about 40% of the cranial cavity is filled with cerebrospinal fluid, while the brain's two cerebral hemispheres are like "a pair of shrivelled walnut halves on top of the brain stem, in contact neither with each other nor the bones of the skull. It is the only animal on Earth with such a strangely reduced brain."[19]"

I'd reconsider its role as national mascot, Australia. The jokes could come too easily.

True, but they're still eating shiat. I mean, I get the reason and it is fascinating, but it doesn't make me any less nauseous.
