Jeez-o-f♥ck, am I glad that people weren't this repressed in the 70s, 80s and early 90s. It used to be entirely common for a 20-year-old to date someone 15 or older with nobody thinking anything of it.

When I was in high school, I was considered LATE to the game when I saved my virginity (intentionally. I took a vow) until I was 16 (and I lost it ON my 16th birthday, thank you very much). Most girls were deflowered before they were 15. Most guys who weren't total slugs or social outcasts lost their virginity by the time they were 16. When I was 15 years old I was dating a 19-year-old. These days, the poor girl would be in jail and on the sex offender's list. Back then, it was no big deal. Her parents didn't mind. My parents didn't mind. The cops who interrupted us in the middle of fooling around in her car didn't mind. She was never hauled off and treated like a predator.

We should protect CHILDREN; Not post-pubescent, sexually-active, non-impaired teenagers. I keep hearing that their emotional maturity and judgement aren't "fully developed", but these same people making this claim also expect these teenagers to take on the duties, chores, and responsibilities of a modern teenager without any remorse. If you let your kid drive, attend classes, take lessons, deal with social issues in school, act in a major television network prime time show, or have lunch with her agent to discuss residuals, then it's a pretty good bet your kid is mentally mature enough to decide whether or not she wants to have a penis inside her.

It's like parents think that the way to keep children youthful and innocent is to prevent them from having sex.. As if THAT thing, among all the other responsibilities you heap on teenagers, is the ONE thing that "ruins" them.

Jeez... You expect them to cope with so much, and yet you don't trust them to make judgments regarding their own sexuality. I just don't get it. As if you weren't ready when you were their age? As if you would have had a problem if your partner was four years older than you? Give me a break.

All I'm saying is that the holier-than-thou, protect-the-teenagers-from-sex, dude-she's-only-16 crowd needs to chill out. Nobody here is actually going to f♥ck this celebrity, and chances are--- in the business she's involved in-- she has consented to having sex with guys a LOT older than she is. She doesn't need you protecting her from FARK admirers.

For the record, I'm happily taken and don't trust anyone under 30, but I just get sick of seeing the two camps square off to shout "Pervert!" and "Prude!" at each other all day. Isn't there a sensible, logical, reasonable medium here?

So, the campaign is trying to say that being attracted to fully developed 14 year olds is equivalent to being interested in 8 year olds, which is ludicrous. Yes, it is still statutory rape, and, you need to be not so dumb guys, and just lookie at the beach, but don't touchy (and, that is the point of the ad campaign I guess, to get that across to the dolts). But, that bikini pic of Ariel, or the photos that came out of Madonna's daughter who was 15 I believe... those are easily bodies that could be on a 19 or 20 year old.... they just got to a fully developed shape much earlier than other women. Again, yes, don't cross the line for many reasons (the law, not enough life experience to make those decisions, etc), but, there is no real visceral difference in the visuals between those 14-15 year olds and legally aged women.
