This coming from the same guy that stated his number one goal was to make Obama a one term president?

Keep farking that chicken Mitch. There's just a few feathers left at this point.

Thats not fair!

That's fine Mitch. This means you will also have to move to the center, you lettuce munching turtle bastard.

No, he can no longer run on that line- his efforts failed in his goal. Now he has a new goal: simply be an asshole poor loser. He can do that one indefinitely.

2012-11-07 01:13:18 PM
That infuriated me. John Cornyn's statement gave me a sliver of hope, though.

2012-11-07 01:14:51 PM
Minority leader.

2012-11-07 01:15:36 PM
Shouldn't Mitch admit that he failed to do the one most important thing on his agenda during the last four years, and resign in shame?
Or he could look at everything he has done in the last 30 years, and resign in shame. Either way.

2012-11-07 01:17:05 PM
Well... good news for Mitch... if he commits himself to preventing Obama from getting ANOTHER term he might just pull that off this time.

From the same interview where he made the "one-term" comment.

NJ: What have you learned?
McConnell: After 1994, the public had the impression we Republicans overpromised and underdelivered. We suffered from some degree of hubris and acted as if the president was irrelevant and we would roll over him. By the summer of 1995, he was already on the way to being reelected, and we were hanging on for our lives.
NJ: What does this mean now?
McConnell: We need to be honest with the public. This election is about them, not us....."

Too bad the guy doesn't respect history. He's found himself (and his party) hanging on for their lives... again.

naughtyrev: So he wants Obama to go to the left, then.

Yeah, this idea that Obama is some uber-liberal is laughable.

2012-11-07 01:22:05 PM
Sweet, big left turn coming up.

Not that McConnell would ever acknowledge that Obama was in this mythical "center" no matter what position he took. He could finish making the rest of his positions exactly what the GOP wants, and not only would McConnell refuse to agree but he would make his own positions further right just so he could call Obama a liberal.

Mitch McConnell, this is your Waterloo.

Also you're a turtle.

The word career politician should be a dirty word.

Maybe not.

*fingers crossed*

I wonder if there are any rules changes that could be pushed through at the beginning of next term that might hinder the GOP obstruction efforts.

2012-11-07 01:46:03 PM
Voters seemed to have endorsed the living shiat out of Obama. When is this asshole's term up?

2012-11-07 01:49:20 PM
Mitch is a biatch.

2012-11-07 02:10:25 PM
What is the political centre on no tax increases for the rich versus tax increases on the rich? They signed a pledge not to move an inch towards the centre on this.

Obama ran on increasing taxes to the rich. That is something he couldn't have been farking clearer on. A majority of Americans support this in polling?

To me the Buffet rule was a fair compromise. Don't touch the tax rates, just close some of the ridiculous loopholes.

2012-11-07 02:20:15 PM
Damn pronouns... I thought Mitch was saying HE was moving towards the "center"

2012-11-07 02:43:08 PM
Get used to it. This is what we're going to get for the next 2-4 years. Obama is an extremist liberal and if only he'd compromise with the sensible, moderate Republicans we'd get America fixed in no time. It's his own fault, you see.

2012-11-07 03:20:37 PM
Obama 2.0

/this one doesn't care about his poll numbers

2012-11-07 03:46:52 PM
it's now been two elections in a row that you were prevented winning a majority thanks to your teabagger extremist friends, mitchy. you might want to tone down the rhetoric, mmmkay?

Political Science 101: The Grand Bargain is the sort of thing you might be forced into if you DIDN'T just kick ass in a national election.

Obama campaigned on raising taxes on the rich and walked to reelection. Dems are already bending over.

Obama has a 52% approval rating. When Congress has an approval rating higher than Jerry Sandusky, they can ask Obama for permission to offer an opinion once and awhile.

ouch!

Mitch McConnell's new goal is to ensure the Democrats are a two-term party.

The general consensus is that the economy is going to improve over the next four years, and if the GOP doesn't do everything in its power to make the 2nd Obama administration look ineffectual and extreme, then they will have to deal with 4-8 years of Hillary. Not only does that prospect scare the bejeezus out of them, but the older conservative Supreme Court justices just can't hold out for another 8-12 years.

You FAILED, McConnell. You failed in the single most important thing you said you wanted for four years.

Fall on your sword for you party and country.

When did turtle neck become the majority leader?

2012-11-07 04:13:44 PM
As a Kentuckian, allow me to apologize for this chicken-farking turtle motherfarker. I have never, ever voted for him and nothing would make me happier than to see him go.

Add Rand Paul to that. We're sorry.

2012-11-07 04:13:57 PM
Party above Country obviously didn't work GOP.

Grr, I used that as my headline and got redlit. I'm worse at elections than Karl Rove.

2012-11-07 04:15:59 PM
Look, It's not MY fault I've been so obstructionist and unreasonable the last four years! If he'd only been more like me, I'd have been glad to work with him?

--and how would that have been, Senator?

More white!

We can only hope he'll become the arm twister now. Really take them on.

Already being a giant douchebag, what a surprise. These same tards are whining about Obama's revenge comment. I hope Obama does take revenge on people like this.

2012-11-07 04:16:54 PM
We will have to wait for the big money on wall street to tell them to knock it off. They'll listen to that. If they want to raise money, they gotta listen to the money bags.

2012-11-07 04:17:35 PM
After YOU, turtle man.

2012-11-07 04:17:44 PM
Ugh, why do these dicks always have to be from Kentucky?

2012-11-07 04:18:02 PM

Mmmrky: Minority leader.

I came to ask if anyone had pointed out that McConnell is the Senate Minority Leader, but I see my work is done.

/tips hat

2012-11-07 04:18:52 PM

And yet teabaggers - apparently with all sincerity - insist that it is Obama that refuses to "reach out"

Mourdock lost, but his attitude is alive and well

MOURDOCK: "I certainly think bipartisanship ought to consist of Democrats coming to the Republican point of view"

2012-11-07 04:18:55 PM
If Reid revamps the filibuster, MINORITY Leader McConnell would be a sitting duck.

The USA has a policy of not negotiating with terrorists.

2012-11-07 04:22:14 PM
"The American people did two things: They gave President Obama a second chance to fix the problems that even he admits he failed to solve during his first four years in office, and they preserved Republican control of the House of Representatives," McConnell said in a statement.

Yeah, they also preserved Democrat control of the Senate, Mr Minority Leader.
