Well, good for RedState for trying to figure out this mess using intelligence and analysis. I truly hope that what comes out of this is a wake up call to the Republicans that their party is going to slowly decay and rot unless they figure who they are NOW. They no longer have blacks on their side, and the ones that are technically still Republicans (like Steele or Powell) seem to favor a return back to the more moderate party. They are quickly losing women to some scary views on abortion and general sexism. If they aren't careful, they are going to lose key demographics like Cubans. (Cubans were almost split 47/50 this election.)

Unfortunately, with how close the race was on the popular vote side, I think the GOP is going to continue down their path until they experience a Reagan-esque landslide. Which is sad, because there's good conversations to be had about the differences between the sizes of government and conservatism in general.

Moderates: It's your job to try to flush this mess out of your party. Or you could form a new party, but I don't think if that would survive long-term.

White Men no longer does a coallition make. It worked great for about 235 years though

Worked great for white men. Not so much for minorities and women though. I'm glad to see Caucasians losing the majority even though I am one.

Mentat: David Frum and Micheal Steele are the only sane Republicans left.

Yeah, I know, it feels weird to type too.

Jon Huntsman seems pretty sane.

"it's an issue when the candidate can't figure out how to articulate the pro-life position in a way that doesn't creep the hell out of every woman in the country"

That's simply because the GOP's pro-life position creeps the hell out of every woman in the country. "Articulation" won't help them.

Which is pretty incredible if the widespread reports of Republican enthusiasm and GOTV reaching levels not seen in at least a decade are accurate...perhaps it goes to show we cannot lose 70%+ of the minority vote anymore.

Gender gap apparently was visible too: men voted Romney, women, inexplicably supported Obama

I laughed so hard at this.
