FTFA: Whether the president's actions were good or bad ideas or not is irrelevant. What's relevant is whether we want to establish a precedent whereby a president, who has no constitutional authority to repeal parts of congressional legislation, can grant special favors and rule by presidential decree like Third World tyrants.

So Dr. Williams, John M. Olin distinguished Professor of Economics has apparently just learned about the concept of executive orders and signing statements. Waking up to a new world without history every morning must be quite an experience.

People don't seem to understand what the constitution is there for. It's there to set rules for running government. It isn't there to tell people they can't have any other rules than what is set forth in the constitution.

Bunch of farking idiots in this country.

LOL. This is the best part. Say what you will about Romney being a disingenuous two-faced elitist douchenozzle, he ran a solid ground campaign. Much better than McCain's. Early voting was in fact much better for the GOP because he used it.

Didn't change the results though. Silent majority, right? Wrong.

I think it's more that Republicans have become disrespectful to expanding minority groups that now happen to help swing the vote towards Obama. You can't keep LGBT and non-whites under the rug forever.

I only skimmed it, but it seemed essentially be a thinly veiled call to christian morality, and a statement that our culture is now morally undermined (i.e. sinful), which allowed the Obama presidency and perceived unconstitutional behavior (which apparently are one and the same).

I.e. Obama won and that's proof we are a sinful nation reaping the rewards for tolerating gays and bums and adulterers and...you get the picture.

Don't worry Republicans. I can certainly empathize because i felt the EXACT same way in 2004. The only difference is that my fears were based in reality and they came to fruition. GWB really DID keep us in two wars and try to destroy the economy. At least the shiat you're biatching about is a lie. You're lucky.

To some people, "unconstitutional" is just a synonym for "things I don't like personally".

My father blathered something to me last night about Obama telling defense contractors to hold off on announcing layoffs and how it was against the WARN act. And that if there were any legal costs from it, the fed would have to pay for it with tax money.
I don't watch Fox News, so I can't say I've heard anything about this. I did a search, and found this:
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/10/at-white-house-request-l o ckheed-martin-drops-plan-to-issue-layoff-notices/
I don't see exactly how it was unconstitutional. They were simply directed to wait till the decisions are actually finalized before shiat-canning their workforce over it. And it sounds like Lockheed said "makes sense, we'll wait and see and apply pressure to the decision makers to see if we can change their minds."

Who Ginsgburg or Kennedy? Unless it's to replace Thomas and/or Scalia there will be no much difference in the short term.

Four Justices - Stevens, Ginsburg, Kennedy, and Scalia - are over 70. Of those four, it's almost 100% for Ginsburg to retire; Stevens and Kennedy might; Scalia will hold on with both hands until there's a Republican in office.

So at least one, possibly as many as three, with an outside shot at four. And who knows - maybe Thomas goes completely insane and is forced to resign or gets impeached.

Replacing both would be good. Ginsburg obviously is a push but she's getting old. Replacing Kennedy would be good on the Citizens United and pro-business front but there'd be little to no change on the social front.

I would love to see Scalia, Thomas, and Alito all replaced.

Jairzinho: Scalia

Scalia is 76 years old. He could die of old age. I thought Thomas was older than 64. I guess it isn't that big of a deal then.

Yeah, I've never heard any derpster actually explain what specifically they think is unconstitutional. Obamacare? That was legislated legally. Bank and Auto bailouts? Those were legislated legally. Not a natural born citizen? That's been debunked a jillion times. So what the hell?
