I worry for the poor Dominican boys that Rush and Drudge will scar for life this weekend.

Matt in the Hat is a RW conduit and has been since he first "broke" the Lewinski scandal that other rags were sitting on at the time. Since that time his schtick of selective cherry picking of stories that in some way reinforced some aspect of the loony RW narrative replete with hyperbolic headlines has been as obvious as it has been odious. That all cheerfully noted, he really outdid himself in his classless display last night.

Knowing he'll wake up this morning hungover, bitter as hell and in a newly blue Florida is making my breakfast nosh seem even more tasty than usual.

Mmmm, bacon goes good with shadenfreude. Yum. ^__^

Maybe he's being fed, but I've found him useful as a bellwether for the next set of talking points on Fox News. Even after all these years, he still regularly leads the echo chamber.

The true tell sign of the Drudge butthurt is that his site has barely been updated today.

If Romney had won by the same margin, I guess it would be the unified, single-minded, mission-oriented states of america?

I suck so didn't get a screen shot, but wanted to and share.

It's fun getting callstoday from people I know who live in butthurt nation. Some relatives, some work associates across the country. When I say that polls have had this result pegged for at least 3 weeks they can't believe it. I love asking if they only watch Fox News, or visit Drudge Report for their news. A few of them may finally get it. Most will keep digging in.

yes it is delicious for now, but no joke all is now lost. the fox brigade and drudge are already pushing the lameduck narrative, have declared that todays stock numbers will reflect the next 4 years. the spin began all of 5 mins after ohio was called and rove was going nuts on air.

and the 2nd ammendment solution nutters are already throwing the price of ammo sky rocketing.

I think it is funny because at the pace they were going, it was quite obvious they had pre-prepared responses for Obama kicking Romney's ass.

I give him less than 5 years before he emulates his former "roommate" Breibart and drinks himself to death. but then, I'm old enough to remember when drudge was nothing more than an annoying prick who used to spam the Usenet. Plus ca change...

Even my liberal friends looked at me like I was crazy when I told them that not only would Obama get over 300 EV, but we would have a winner Tuesday night, probably before 11:30 PM.

By far the biggest winner was the word "Margin". I think every 10th word was Margin last night.

2012-11-07 12:49:10 PM
Drudge is a very good example of "bipartisanship means that you libby libs shut up and approve whatever us here Real Muricans tell you to" and "anti-American anti-Americanism is anything other than this form of bipartisanship."

It's "LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE" until the people decide in a way they don't like, then it's "ACORN! SOROS! HYPER-PARTISANSHIP! MUST. DEFEAT. LIBBY LIBS!"

2012-11-07 12:55:08 PM
Of course Drudge is stoking the divided nation fire. How else can he and other partisan "news" sites keep people coming back. They thrive off people being outraged so they continually dump gas on any fire, whether real or perceived.

I had an old roommate who used to obsessively listen to Rush and Hannity every day and was on Drudge's site 24/7. It always amazed me how little he actually knew about our country's history and how much he thought he knew. Some of my favorites:

- The John Kerry sex scandal he read about on Drudge that the MSM buried
- He told a common friend that he should go on unemployment since he couldn't find a job after college, and all kinds of stupid slackers are out there collecting it (not realizing you have to have a job and lose it to collect unemployment)
- He lamented about his dad actually bringing home less money after receiving a big raise because it put him in a new tax bracket
- He told me a story about how the 2003 Iraq war could've been avoided because Bush I had the tanks 50 miles outside Baghdad during Desert Storm and they were ready to take out Saddam but then Clinton took over and ended the conflict
- The day we captured Saddam, he was screaming at the TV, "Yeah! I wonder what all those f***ing Democrats are gonna have to say about that!!!"

AT 8:30 on FN, Megyn Kelly was talking with her panel about the missteps of the Romney Campaign. What the biggest mistake was, and what the panel would have done differently to win.

By 9:00 I think the crew was reminded that they were losing their audience, so they ramped the crazy back up to 11 by bringing Ham Rove up on stage.

So far, my favorite thing of the day has been watching half my old friends from MS losing their shiat and saying stuff they normally wouldn't... In public. Most blame all our country's problems on black welfare queens, Californians, and New Yorkers.

So I've enjoyed my day so far.

meh...:

I have a neighbor that has hung a "1/20/2013- Change you can believe in" across his porch for the last year. I wonder if it's still there? I'm off to take a picture if so :).

yes please!!!!

At least none of my neighbors had any yard signs. Well, no, one did have a very small sign in their flower bed by their front door endorsing a local democrat. That was it on my street. However, the major street I take to and from work has been quite populated with HUGE republican signs. No democrat signs, only republican ones.... (and I never understood why you would put 10 signs for the SAME GUY in your yard either)

This morning on my way to work at 6am - every single one was gone.

What they should have done is told Kelly through her earpiece to discreetly unfasten one or two buttons on her blouse.

Drudge's career arc is the same as Unskewed, just over a longer time period

2012-11-07 04:31:49 PM
I've had drudge as one of my default browser tabs for years. It's always good to hear what the right wing is saying but... literally drudges current listing of the popular vote on his site right now is the first and only poll that showed Obama in the lead that he has run in this entire election cycle that... is NOT an exaggeration. That kind of delusion is why the Republicans lost last night. Needless to say I promised myself a month ago I'd stop checking drudge when the election was over and as of today it's no longer a default tab.

You can not like the Drudge headline but I can't find anyone,Republican or Democrat, who thinks this country is anything but divided. Hell, Republicans can't even get along with each other. It's going to be fun to watch all of our elected officials fight on a daily basis. There isn't a deal cutter in the entire bunch of them, at least not one with any significant pull in both parties

The real insanity is that the American electorate seems to want divided government. If not they would have voted differently.

/Need enough popcorn for at least a 2 year spectacle.

from a David Frum article earlier:

I didn't do public predictions this year, but I fear I did see today coming. I've written a book to explain what went wrong - and to propose some ways forward. WHY ROMNEY LOST will release Friday as an e-book, with an excerpt also in the coming issue of Newsweek.

i didn't do predictions, but i have a book for sale immediately titled 'WHY ROMNEY LOST'.

not really putting frum in the derp column, but...yah. it's almost exactly what you stated.

2012-11-07 05:50:35 PM
Its a "Divided Nation"!
You know, because a 3 to 2 majority is considered hopelessly divided. To the point that even Romney told his recount lawyers to just go home.

Yeah, the nation is divided. There's the rational folk, and crazies. Guess which side you're on?
