These guys have spent the last decade committing electoral suicide. i love it.

Romney didn't win anything, he just lost by the least possible votes.

2012-11-07 02:08:53 AM
This is what happens when your party champions its ability to elect racists, and those racists use racist scare tactics to secure the votes of racists.

They got what they deserved. It's too bad Bush couldn't get his immigration reform bill passed. 15 democratic senators voted against it too, though.

The important thing is to create MOAR white resentment. It's the only way to win.

2012-11-07 02:48:21 AM
I'm rather sad that so many of my fellow brown people bought Romney's bullshiat.

2012-11-07 05:16:09 AM
I think the only way I could vote for Romney is if I was wasted and to laugh at shiat.

2012-11-07 06:19:57 AM
It's almost as though voters pay attention.
Odd.

They should keep courting Hispanics with policies against gays and abortion. Clearly it's a winning tactic.

We will see the GOP completely reverse stance on immigration just to remain relevant. People have a very short memory on this thing, in four or five years all the white crazies will be buying into whatever spin the right wing mouthpiece provides. Of course they don't understand it's not all about immigration.

Expect a Rubio run in 2016, either as a VP or presidential candidate. He will be their whole 'look we court Hispanics.'

It's way too early to be theorizing about his national political career, but it'd be funny if 2016, or 2020 ends up being Castro (D) vs Rubio (R).

It's not just Hispanics but minorities in general.

As a rule, minorities will always pay more attention to politics to see if there is anything going on that threaten them, specially the educated ones.

So, another growing minority, Asians are overwhelmingly supporting Democrats.

Because Bush for all his faults, didn't feel the need to Pander to the "Secret Mexican Invasion" branch of the party.

Maybe we'll have better luck with Christie/Rubio in 2016.

2012-11-07 09:29:35 AM
eh, the US government's handling of illegal immigration has been pretty awful regardless political bias, we ignored it for the longest time because it was economically beneficial to everybody involved, and only started cracking down under Bush & Obama because it became economically poisonous... only after the cracking down got more extreme did it become politically beneficial to enact immigration reform, but we're talking about the back-end of one long disastrous mess that may or may not have contributed to a mexican drug-fueled civil war

20/20 hindsight i guess, we should've had immigration reform 20 years ago when the open border first became a big problem, then the housing boom never would've been fueled into oblivion with cheap illegal labor, then there wouldn't have been mass commercial raiding and deportations in the first place

Obama also got 73% of the Asian vote. As others have said, Obama is the one with the broad coalition - he wins everyone. It's the GOP that's the party of narrow demographics. They only win one group - white men.

Felicitaciones Señor Presidente Barack Obama. Yo voté por usted y tambien doné dinero para su campaña.

I can see that happening...Christie/Rubio versus Cuomo/Villaraigosa in '16.

and i'd believe it's becoming "old white men".

I'd like to see how this group is distributed by age and I hope to see younger white men being less radical.

Hey, don't give them too many ideas. That actually could work, given how devoutly Catholic the Hispanic communities are. Well, it would, if the party weren't also so openly racist and anti-immigrant.

If they dropped the racist and anti-immigration bullshiat, yeah, it may work. And Romney and Paul Ryan did try that tactic this election round. But those two conflicting policy positions simply did not mesh well.

I'm so glad the election is over.

Who would have thought that a platform based on self-deportation, that is making life so difficult for immigrants that they decide to leave, wouldn't be popular with immigrants.

Not really the candidates as much as the parties, methinks.

Heed the writing on the wall or face another shellacking, GOP.

STOP ALL IMMIGRATION, NOW!!!!! Deport all illegals of all colors. Overpopulation is a threat to our resources and national security.

As long as the fail tag is for the hispanics, who are voting not to have jobs, then I'm ok with this.

Yeah, we've tried that. You do realize that deportations under President Obama are at their highest ever, right? That they run 50% higher than under Bush? Even at that enhanced rate people come here faster than they can be rounded up and deported. To put it in perspective, if no illegals arrived here at all starting tomorrow, it would take NINE full Presidential terms just to deport the illegals here now.

Gotta Plan B?

I was speaking from nonpartisan terms. Bush's deportation rate was dismal. Don't think for a minute that my dislike for Obama is a "like" for Bush. For the sake of integrity, you need to try. We need to make fence jumping a felony. In many border states it is legal to shoot someone in the commission of a felony. I'm on to something.......

Even legal immigration??

Oh Jeez Louise.

BTW, the brown side of my family has been in this country LEGALLY since the late 1800s. The Apache side of my family (San Carlos, to be exact), was here long before any white person knew this land existed.

/sick and tired of conservative idiots who subscribe to negative stereotypes about brown people

Read t what I wrote. of ALL colors. We are being overrun. The Muslim infestation is way out of hand too. We can force these people into self-deportation. Just don't let illegals, buy or rent cars, buy or rent shelter, homes, apartments, have jobs etc. They'll get sick of it, leave, and word will get around. My family has been here legally for several generations as well. I am not trying to insult you or your family. We just have too many farking people. Overpopulation is a threat to our national security. We only have a limited amount of resources. Nowhere in the Constitution does it say we have to take all of these people.

Are we all pretending it's a post-racial society still?
