Can we have a national "Kick Todd Akin in the Nuts" day?

The proceeds could go towards cancer.

Yes except it's every day.

On the hour.

every five minutes.

twice a second.

The difference is that cancer patients don't deserve their pain and sadness.

But on a side note: Mitt Romney was a career politician, general sleazebag and affluent son of a Governor. He wasn't incompetent as in the case of George W. Bush or an absolute moron as was Palin.

Though this is great news, I'm still saddened by the fact that these rape apologist assclowns only got an electoral beating because they happened to be vocal about it.

Their misguided views are still an accepted standard amongst many in the far right currently holding public office. They'll always be looking for ways to subtly inject their positions into legislation, and, well, that just peeves me pretty bad.

Still, a win is a win. I'd say this is a great day for common sense.

Graciousness is applied only to a worthy, respectable adversary. In this case, Akin deserves no pity and should be openly mocked for his continued demonstration of being an asshole. The guy can't even give a concession speech without being a jerk.

Fark that guy. Piss on his figurative grave.

Sadly I can't see this thread as being the one to point out Hunter_Worthington's overall correctness. In general most people like to brag about their team winning. There is graciousness in winning ie. see Obama's speech.

The part I like is the hypocrisy of the Republican Party - when Todd Akin first made his repellant views public, the GOP publicly distanced themselves... and then quietly sucked back up to him once the initial media push waned.

Remember that. They're not upset at his views - just at the fact that he stated them clearly, without the buzzwords and vague phrasing approved by the GOP. He wasn't wrong in their eyes, just tactless.

He's should've followed Romney's example, and used vague generalities, leaned consistently on the "family values" plank, and kept his friggin' mouth shut until after the election, when he could then spend the next term putting what he really feels into action. But, no, he had to go and be all honest and shiat. There was no wiggle room for the GOP to backpedal his directly expressed craziness, and so their idea of damage control was to publicly hem & haw about his clearly expressed views, but also to privately continue funding him because, after all, he is "one of the boys."

They were upfront about that during the last two weeks. They openly said that having another Republican in the Senate was more important then not having an idiot in the Senate.
