Is it worse between the two consoles? In Cod on ps3 it's pretty rare. The last few sessions I've had I never heard a high pitched youngin yappin

There's a global setting to mute anyone who is not on your team.

I've never really played Halo much, but I didn't think breasts were all that prominent in the series. Quite the expert this guy is.

I never understood the PC master race myself, or rather, I never empathized. I understand that even the uber geeks need to play alpha male.

Computer geek that I am, there's not much inherently better for a vast majority of games that hit big on the console(primarily FPS games).

Graphics? Somewhat, you can tell the difference if you stop and look around, but who really takes that time?
Most people would rather actually play the games than marvel how their 144FPS game plays better than the guy with 133fps.

Accuracy via mouse? Hello easy mode, in a sense, everyone I know can point and click easily.
Also, the argument is a non starter, presumably on a PC, everyone has a mouse, and on a console everyone has a controller. It's called a level playing field. Comparing the control schemes is like saying the football is a better thing than the drag racing tires. It's when people use improper controllers on PC, or a mouse on a console that any difference is relevant. guess who plays on a console with a mouse? Someone who cried when their training wheels got removed from their bicycle.

Even at that, the analog stick has the mouse beat in one distinct way: You never have to hit the edge of a mouse pad/surface, lift or otherwise reposition. Continuous movement in any of the 4 traditional dimensions.(same reason flight sims still function best on a stick).

It's certainly not as flexible as a console, atleast not without spending more or building specialized boards/shelves.
With a console I can kick back in a recliner or even lie down on the sofa, and can have guests play right along side me, at no cost other than a spare controller.(on most games anyhow).

Dumb-Ass-Monkey: I'm hours into the game, and still on disk 1. Graphically it's stunning. Just gorgeous. And it's a pretty damn good game, too.

Disk 2 is multiplayer, not campaign. Just fyi. It is a damn good game so far.

I think hating on Halo is a kind of meta game some folks play when it releases, so it's kind of cool that we're all enjoying the game one way or another.

Only played a little bit of multiplayer, but damn. They made some amazing design decisions that all feed into another in a way that's both balanced and addictive. I was worried about the sound of the progression systems, but 343 has done a stellar job.

Since you havent played it, you havent seen that the games are flooded (hah!) with references to Marathon, even the symbols that are used by the various A.I.s in the Marathon universe are used by Forerunner computer systems and a.i.

I have absolutely no idea, but I always just go with it. Hell, in Halo4 they use the Marathon symbol as the Forerunner symbol at one point.

Nerd rage moment: the proto-humans achieving space flight and fighting a war against the Forerunners was stupid when they introduced it in the novels (tangent: fark novelizations of anything) and it's stupid that they made it into the primary plot device. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

One of the few times I wish I had an X-Box. I just can't justify buying one for one, maybe two games a year.

I am not an Xbox gal; prefer PS3. Right now I am flirting with WoW (just can't get back into it) and Zero Escape on my 3DS. I suck at console shooters. Now Im feeling really nostalgic and I think Ill break out some ds_dust.
