I am going to vote in an hour. Just heard from family that the line is short so that's good.

Gonna be glued to the computer and tv all night.

If Obama loses, I'll be about as upset as when my football team loses. I'll be over it about 36 hours later.

Of course, if Obama wins, I'll be enjoying my schadenfreude for years.

OBAMA WINS GUAM VOTE

"Since 1984, Guam has been conducting a non-binding presidential 'straw poll' on the same date as the presidential election. And each time since 1984, the Guam Straw Poll has correctly predicted who will be the next president."

Watching CNN:

1) VA, Obama listed as the republican candidate.
2) PA voting machines converting vote to Obama to Romney (with video).

This is going to be a long night.

Turnout has been heavy in my district (Nova Suburbs.)

It took me 2 hours to vote this morning. My wife is in a line twice as long at the moment.

Considering the Republican strategy was to KEEP people from the polls, I think their little plot failed. And spectacularly.

I just voted in Ohio. There was a black lady in line next to me who was being asked for ID. She was asked if she had anything with her photo on it, utility bills, paycheck, etc., she kept shaking her head "no". Was she a student, perhaps? No.

Then they explained to her how the provisional ballot votes, how she would have 10 days to take it to the county election office with the proper ID. Eventually she just shrugged and walked away. I understand that you need SOME form of ID to vote, but it really broke my heart that someone was denied the right vote, and became too frustrated with the provisional process to bother. I hope things become easier for everyone in the future, not harder.

When a political party loses a major election, they experience the 5 Stages of Grief in reverse order:

1. Acceptance: "We ran a good campaign, we got our message out, and hopefully we can work with our opponent to make the country better."
2. Depression: "Where did we go wrong? Do the people just not like us? Do we need to change our message?"
3. Bargaining (mid-term elections): "OK so we've had a bad run of luck, but we can still come out ahead! We're gonna get back in the game!"
4. Anger: "President X is ruining the country! He will send us back to the dark ages and get us all killed!"
5. Denial: "We've done nothing but try to help the American People and offer to work with President X for four years in the spirit of bipartisanship."

Either way, I need to see Gretchen Carlson's face tomorrow morning. Of course she'll be breathing fire if Obama is re-elected, but given the chance that Romney wins, she will easily be the first on air "news anchor" reporting with sex toys inserted in each of her openings.
