I ditched cable well over two years ago and barely watch network tv. Svengoolie is the lost 'Creature Features' of youth and one of the best two hours on a usually abyssmal saturday night.

Get well soon, Mr. Koz!

I used to love him when I was younger. I didn't realize he was still doing the Svengoolie bit.

I remember him as the Son of Svengoolie in the late 70s/early 80s. We'd tune in every (I think) Saturday channel 32, probably, to watch the classic horror movies that scared the bajeezus out of me.

Be well, sir.

That's too bad. Friends of mine have met and hung out with Rich Koz. Apparently he has an encyclopedic knowledge of bad movies.

That's okay. As I understand it, the feeling was mutual.

(He was ringmaster on Bozo's Circus for a while, obviously had no patience with the little ankle-biters)

I'd like to add Jerry Bryant of JBTV, just because he is such an awkward weirdo and looks like he takes about 1 shower a month. Also he always says something completely retarded and then laughs at himself every time he interviews someone.

Yep. The contrast between Lost In Space and Star Trek is fascinating. Just imagine Dr. Smith and Mr. Spock switching roles.

Also, does anyone remember the Koz Zone. It was on Channel 32 (FOX) and a bunch of after school cartoons.

Heard him Nick DiGillio's(sp) WGN radio show on 10/28. He was very good.

He also does a 'Three Stooges' show with lots of trivia and info on the skits.
Not my cup of tea but his knowledge in this area is damned near encyclopedic.

None of my current friends or co-workers have ever heard of Gigglesnort Hotel. I never dropped acid, but when it is described to me, I figure that show was a good enough analog.

The Shussher scared the crap out of me as a kid.

I think Weird had another alter-ego, too.. The Lemon Kid or something.
What a creepy, excellent show.

Yep. It occupied the commercial blocks between Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs (and some other cartoons that I've probably forgotten)

/I absolutely hated that Howie Mandel cartoon

Used to spend summers and Thanksgiving in Chicago back in the 70s because my grandma lived there. Always got a kick out of WFLD-32 because it was so much more interesting and mysterious to my 6-year-old self than anything on the NYC stations. WFLD had Son of Svengoolie, the Monkees, old Popeye cartoons... between that and BOZO! on WGN, it was pretty boring having to go back home.

Rich Koz has always been cool though.

The Ghoul was on channel 61 in Cleveland originally (copying Ghoulardi), then left and was in Detroit for a while then came back to Cleveland. I don't know what he's doing now. Probably has a website ...
