Even if the weather was a problem they would simply extend the voting hours. Hell, they're doing that here in the Houston area (Galveston co.) and it's beautiful mild weather today.

robohobo: Corvus: robohobo: What if one is more or less perfectly split? I mean, taking the R side on half, and the D side on the other half? Or would those people just be subjects of mockery? Half a herp or half a derp?

Sorry how would that make "both candidates the same"?

How does what your beliefs are make both candidates "the same" please explain to me.

I apologize, I probably quoted the wrong section, what I meant was, it's hard to pick between the two when one's beliefs are equally strung between both factions. People like me get the stink-eye from both sides for not swallowing 100% of their kool-aid.

/dislikes kool-aid

But my point is that both candidates are not the same and have very difference stances on substantial issues.

How does what you said have any bearing on that whatsoever?

Or where you completely ignoring the point of my post and just doing the arrogant "I am so superior because I am above your politics" and had no idea what you were responding to?

Why do you think you need to "swallowing 100% of their kool-aid" do you not believe in compromise. You think we should never compromise and only vote for those we "swallowing 100% of their kool-aid"?

Hehe, I figured I'd get some crap for that. I see it as somewhat acceptable, since I'm questioning the premise of the statement "Giuliani was on CNN". In my mind, the idea that someone thought "you know who could give us some real insight into this election? Rudy! He'll have a lot of constructive commentary, and will really be a valuable resource." Thus, I'm questioning the reality of the premise, as I refuse to believe that actually occurred.

HighOnCraic: Aracnix: TheMysticS: Aracnix: Remember folks:

There are not 2 choices for president. There are 6 candidates. Vote for which best represents you and your beliefs, not who you are told will or should win.

(As a former Obama voter, may I direct my fellow disillusioned Democrats toward Ross Anderson of the Justice party...)

Been there, done that.
3 elections for Nader.
Go ahead and laugh, but I always vote my conscience.
Last time? Obama.
McCain? Lord no. Palin? Girlfriend, go back to what you do best- looking purty.

Now? Romney? Sheesh.
Ryan? Fark that legitimate rape bullschnitt.

Obama has done some good stuff.
But dang, not liberal enough for me. But I have no choice. I'm certainly disillusioned. But the alternative is too much to bear.

...I think my point sort of strolled by you, there.

I think TheMysticS's point was that if one views Obama as not being liberal enough, one has to consider that the possibility of a Romney win would be even worse, so voting for a third-party candidate with no chance of winning would be silly.

Thank you, sir.

Because the party of R has been so silly, so wrongheaded, so immature, so blatant- well, we know what is in the cards if we vote R.

The D vote has been a question mark for me my whole voting life.
But I can't voice a protest vote- I feel I should not risk it- morally, I have to vote this way. For me.
YMMV, but yes, my vote is against much more than for.
Then again...
Naw. Gotta make sure the world I grew up in still exists- so I'd better vote someone to appoint nominees to the Supreme Court.

Anyone else notice that any Republican, no matter how small the office, is running against Obama.
