d23: It seems the vast majority of the WaPo buttons are for Obama.

Can the Romney voters just not figure out the interweb thingee?

Typicaly liberal media bias, our friends and compatriots at Fox News must surely have a fair and balanced fake-button app available to combat the oppression of socialists over at WaPo.

How does what your beliefs are make both candidates "the same" please explain to me.

NeverDrunk23: fruitloop: Any suggestions on whose coverage to watch tonight? I have a feeling all of them will suck, just trying to find whose will suck less.

Probably avoid the usual channels: Fox news, CNN and MSNBC, but msnbc may ne ok. Fn is biased as all hell and cnn just sucks.

In 2008, I was jumping around the channels for coverage. Once it was made official and reported that obama won, I was shocked to see I landed on fox news when they announced it. I was even more shocked that fn didn't drop all electional coverage tha
t moment and switch to shark week footage instead.

And don't forget Comedy Central will have live coverage from 11-12. I'm hoping the election gets called in time for those shows.

Obama wins any state where Gary Johnson gets more than 2% of the vote.

Flab: Weaver95: heading into the home stretch - polls close in 4 hours. still no evidence of GOP efforts to get out the vote. At this point i'm going to officially call it and say the Republican party abandoned Pennsylvania.

They were too busy getting court orders to be allowed at the polling stations to work on GOTV efforts.

it's freaking WEIRD tho. we're pushing the vote hard core and have been all week, but most especially today of all days. And the GOP just...isn't there. like...at all. total ghost town. or full out retreat, if that suits you better.

I figured the Republicans would have put forth at least a token effort.

saintstryfe: bkosh84: really bothers me.

The county I live in doesn't even use them.. Or didn't have enough for the whole county.. Good ol' color in the circle ballot for me. They did have one machine there that was electronic and the woman running the election place asked me to use it.. Inserted my ballot and it couldn't read it.. It crushed her dreams pretty hard when it didn't work, lol.

We have paper ballots that are filled in with pen, then inserted into a machine. I love there's a paper ballot trail... but I do admit to missing the old musty-curtained mechanical voting booth with the little levers.

Corvus: skullkrusher: it's not semantics to point out the distinction between thinking both sides are equally bad and explaining that you find neither side desirable. You'd know that if you didn't intentionally ignore the first part of that post. It's been a while since I've watched you pretend not to understand something simple. Can't wait!

True. But that's not what you said:

skullkrusher: We're not saying they're "the same" except in how we find them both undesirable.

Either you meant that they are equally undesirable or you once again can't communicate your actual opinion.

Which is it??

skullkrusher: To clarify - when I said they are only the same in that we find them both undesirable, I was not saying they are equally undesirable but rather the only way they are "equal" in that I do not like either. Not that I think they are both equally bad. As I've said, in this very thread, I'd be voting for BO if I lived in a swing state

Hehe, I figured I'd get some crap for that. I see it as somewhat acceptable, since I'm questioning the premise of the statement "Giuliani was on CNN". In my mind, the idea that someone thought "you know who could give us some real insight into this election? Rudy! He'll have a lot of constructive commentary, and will really be a valuable resource." Thus, I'm questioning the reality of the premise, as I refuse to believe that actually occurred.

For the record... at my polling place in Fenton, Michigan... People were giving out pens, candy fliers, and pamphlets... but at about 100 feet from the door, so while annoying they were following the law even if they weren't really respecting the intent. One lady was saying, "Pro-Life voting guide", as people walked passed her. I didn't see anyone accept her 'voting guide' on my way in or on my way out.

Burr: TheManofPA: Just voted on the way to work. As an Ohio person, I'll be glad for tomorrow

Amen. I was watching CBS Sunday Morning this week and I swear the political/non-political ad ratio was 10:1. Not to mention the radio ads, and the damn flyers in the mail. I swear I have enough flyers that I will not run out of fuel for my stove this winter.

Same-same here in Northern Virginia...with the added bonus of getting to hear all of Maryland's ads too. West Virginia, too, if you count the ads they're running in the MD elections (casinos).

DC's ads all ran for the primary, I think.

Voted a couple weeks ago (amazingly, Republicans are just fine with early voting when its Texas instead of Florida)

Actually my first time voting in a presidential election (I will try to stay off of others' respective lawns), and while Nate Silver, 538, etc point to an Obama win, being where I am I see no clear signs for that other than that Obama/Biden yard signs exist around here. So I'm kinda super paranoid when perhaps I shouldn't be.

/would it be ridiculously terrible if I chose the Stewart/Colbert coverage to watch the election instead of CNN/MSNBC/etc?

BeatrixK: Heh - sounds like you eavesdropped on my conversation with my dad.

He asked me why the hell would I vote for Obama again? I'm all - uh Dad...do you not get how the GOP views me? I'm a 40 something divorced middle-aged woman and who had a college education and makes a good living: I have no place in GOP America. When the GOP can convince me that their version of smaller government doesn't mean one that will fit in my uterus, I'll give them some consideration.

I am very angry with the GOP for hijacking my once very cool dad and replacing him with a replicant.

See, there's you problem. If you'd just stayed married, happily baking babies and cookies, none of these bad things would have come to pass. Right? RIGHT!?

I KNOW that posting of actual children in Fark threads can be...dangerous. But, I have been here ten years, and felt pretty safe. I don't know why it caught on, but she has now been referenced quite a bit, and photoshopped. Harmless fun, because I know she has higher standards than the likes of you Farkers.

I know, not just believe, that all of those issues will continue to fall in favor of Megacorps, The Rich, China and Israel - NOT the American People.
