Bf+: Car_Ramrod: Bf+: Car_Ramrod: begs the question

[homerize.com image 320x240]

Hehe, I figured I'd get some crap for that. I see it as somewhat acceptable, since I'm questioning the premise of the statement "Giuliani was on CNN". In my mind, the idea that someone thought "you know who could give us some real insight into this election? Rudy! He'll have a lot of constructive commentary, and will really be a valuable resource." Thus, I'm questioning the reality of the premise, as I refuse to believe that actually occurred.

Also, I like saying that phrase.

Aracnix: TheMysticS: Aracnix: Remember folks:

There are not 2 choices for president. There are 6 candidates. Vote for which best represents you and your beliefs, not who you are told will or should win.

(As a former Obama voter, may I direct my fellow disillusioned Democrats toward Ross Anderson of the Justice party...)

Been there, done that.
3 elections for Nader.
Go ahead and laugh, but I always vote my conscience.
Last time? Obama.
McCain? Lord no. Palin? Girlfriend, go back to what you do best- looking purty.

Now? Romney? Sheesh.
Ryan? Fark that legitimate rape bullschnitt.

Obama has done some good stuff.
But dang, not liberal enough for me. But I have no choice. I'm certainly disillusioned. But the alternative is too much to bear.

...I think my point sort of strolled by you, there.

I think TheMysticS's point was that if one views Obama as not being liberal enough, one has to consider that the possibility of a Romney win would be even worse, so voting for a third-party candidate with no chance of winning would be silly.

Dude, Wreck it Ralph is the best thing Disney has made in years. Flipping fantastic movie. PLUS the short that they have in the beginning makes it totally worth the annoying previews.

Without giving the story away at all, let's just say that Pixar's management and story direction has started to bleed its way over into Disney (finally). There are some very mature points in the movie (not mature as in adult and inappropriate, but tough moral dilemmas) that simply aren't the "disney pandering" we've gotten so used to. The room got dusty at points. Plus it has Sonic the Hedgehog AND QBert!

You win my vote.

Can someone explain to me why people who don't think that their vote will count in terms of the EV decide to vote 3rd party as a protest agains the party winning their state? Have they forgotten that the popular vote is a thing? I mean it seems to me that you'd want your guy to win the popular vote AND the EV - if only to shut the other side up. For years, I had to listen to friends moan about Bush's lack of popular vote and how Gore was the people's choice.

For the love of whatever you love - Don't Let This Happen Again.

And I'm not just saying this to get out of donating if there is an EV/Popular vote split (which I think there will be for the above reason).

It was always just a money sink designed to waste GOP resources. Pennsylvania has been blue all along, but the Democrats let it slip that they might be vulnerable, so the GOP would divert some resources from Ohio.

What I find frustrating through this whole ordeal is that the media itself tends to lean in one direction or the other. I kind of wish that there would be a truly unbiased source to obtain information from. I can see political maps from politico and 538 say one thing, end then there is the maps from the examiner and others that say another. Does anyone have an unbiased source that they are using to track the election?

2012-11-06 03:47:55 PM

bionicjoe: My voting story.

2008 - Waited 1:45 to vote. School was hosting 4 precincts and my area of town has the largest subdivisions, most with 1/4 acre lots. Plenty of people.
2010 - Broke up the precincts some & moved mine plus one other to a different polling place. 1 minute wait & I saved America by zip-typing the flag to a post. Kept falling over.

2012 - Waited 1 hour, same place as 2010. I don't understand why, but the other precinct hosted there never has a line. Maybe 1 voter for every 50 in mine.

KY elections don't match up with national or local votes every time. So this political crap never really ends here. There's always yard signs out for something & a few crappy commercials. Farking governor, mayor, or dogcatcher election probably coming soon.

Small ballot this year. One cool KY Constitutional amendment to vote on. Trying to make it a right that hunting and fishing be used for conservation and wildlife management. I dig that even though I don't hunt & haven't fished in years.

So do I. I really hope that passes and Hal Rogers loses his seat.

Probably avoid the usual channels: Fox news, CNN and MSNBC, but msnbc may ne ok. Fn is biased as all hell and cnn just sucks.

In 2008, I was jumping around the channels for coverage. Once it was made official and reported that obama won, I was shocked to see I landed on fox news when they announced it. I was even more shocked that fn didn't drop all electional coverage tha
t moment and switch to shark week footage instead.
