Ours is now a country club; probably the best emblem of the affluent white suburban area we live in, I guess.

They were utterly incompetent in setting it up. They put the first registration table across one end of the room. At one side of the room, just at this end, is the only door in. So you walk in, and if there's a line, the head of the line is right in front of you, at the near end of the table. The tail end of the line is...well you have to walk in, wade through people, and try to figure out where the tail is. And if you just finished voting, you have to wade through the line, and the crush of people coming in. So it was a whole lot of confusion.

Fortunately there weren't that many people when I got there. If there had been a hundred people, they would have had a real problem on their hands.

They could have put the registration table on the far end of the room, maybe put up a curtain to section off the actual voting machines from the line of people walking in, and they would have avoided the tangle.

I said "vote Obama" to my wife just as we walked out the door, just for the satisfaction of breaking the law. It made me feel all...Republican.

If I had to vote next to Street Fighter I'd be saying "HADOUKEN" every time I made a selection.

My polling place is an eco friendly elementary school that has a sign on the door that says "Stop!! Peanut Free Zone" . Makes me wish I had a bag of peanut M&Ms.

Yeah, same here and it bugs me. Especially because out in the entry way they have a table with information set up about the church. C'mon. Stop trying to convert heathens on at least ONE day a year, idiots.

It was funny on the way in though. They have sign wavers on either side of the entry road - one group for each side. When I pulled in the people supporting Mittens were very excited to see me, a white guy in an Audi. And they waved at me again as I was leaving.

I just shook my head "no".



Oh, and for the record, I am in Ohio. The voting machine prints a receipt as you go that tracks your selections, so there is a paper trail. I validated every one of my choices as I went and that part was accurate.

Unfortunately, I was the only one in the place checking that as I went.

When the daughter was in elementary school, our polling place was there. The polling center was set up in the gym, and she said that the gym teacher was actually trying to hold class around the stations. Can you imagine trying to vote and getting hit by a basketball mid-vote?

Bippal: Quick question since this is a voting themed thread, went to vote this morning, and noticed the electronic voting machine's password was 1234, asked the lady about it and she said "yea I think they all are in this town". Wtf? Doesn't that sound like a problem that no one cares?

It certainly could be depending on what access that password gives. I'd report it right now if I were you.
