its well known that Florida and its state government is one of , if not the most, corrupt in the Union.

and Florida is one of the main ports for dope into this Nation.

and its steamy, hot, miserable weather is the cherry on top.

makes me want to move to Florida.

come visit Florida. you'll be grateful when you get to go back home.

did obama win yet? sorry i dont watch tv

Yeah, Florida did kind of get a head-start on the whole making everyone facepalm this year.

Mainly because they still haven't really properly standardized/centralized the physical method of voting yet, where basically every single other state has decided a set of rules and standards for incorporating new technologies into their elections and phased out old ones found to be unreliable.

I'll file Obama losing his voice right up there with Jesus descending and declaring the kingdom of heaven on earth and having us all line up for judgement instead of the polls, though. The president may have a terrible speaking _style_, but so far as I can tell he can maintain a monologue even off-the-cuff for basically eternity.

What about Ohio farking up again as well?

I was talking to a poll worker after voting (N SI = sane) and we were talking about how the people are voting against their interests when they vote R. And we both agree the stonewalling by the Rs in Congress will only get worse.

I'm not watching shiat. In fact, by the time I am able to cast my vote this evening the election will be over and all but called, so I get to miss out on the last minute hysterics. I consider myself fortunate, if very unimportant..

Linux_Yes: its well known that Florida and its state government is one of , if not the most, corrupt in the Union.

I dunno that their problem is really that they're more corrupt, it's more that a huge proportion of their citizens (like 1/5 if I'm remembering correctly) only live there part-time, and they've got a big skew upward in the age distribution. Both of these things lead to confusion and bad long-term decision-making for obvious reasons.

Basically, it's more a weak government easily taken advantage of than an intentionally corrupt government led by knowingly unethical people, so far as I can tell anyhow. You don't see a lot of the blatant criminal activity by actual elected officials that you find in Mississippi or, to use the most extreme example, Louisiana.

Which Fox News personality will be the first to refer to President Obama as simply "that n******" after he wins? I'm torn between Steve Doocy and Eric Bolling.

Why can't Florida get their shiat together?

My friend sent me this picture of the line he is on to vote, took me 20 minutes here in Stamford, CT.

That image is staggering to me that it counts some things as positives for Johnson.

Drop support for the UN? Never raise taxes? Seriously?

Seriously, I spent 6 months cleaning up Katrina (in an official manner) and that was more than enough time to learn first hand that Louisiana is run by criminals. (And that their population buys into them hook, line, and sinker.)

Florida's going to be all farked up again, and Gov. Scott has shown exactly zero interest in fair elections. This time, fortunately, the race should be decided without Florida, but watching their state go through yet another national embarrassment on election day should really give Floridians pause when voting Republicans to state offices.

took me 10 minutes, in and out. I was shocked how crowded it was though. Then again, we have a very hotly contested Senate, congressional and state house races in my area.

Go Warren!

VA here - ~1 hour 20 min lines in my area.

2012-11-06 09:22:57 AM
Jersey Shore here, where 60-70% are still without power. Took me 15 minutes--10 of which standing in the wrong line (people lining up for buses to see what's left of their homes on the barrier islands).

Most had mailed in their ballots already.

No, fark Rupert Murdoch.

He is on my people to kill list, if Obama loses. I want to find him, drag him off to a dank dark dungeon, drill a hole in the back of his skull and fark that hole until the grey goo runs out his nose.

Florida's already farking things up. Mayor Gimenez of Miami-Dade closed early voting on Saturday, claiming nobody told him it was allowed.

I drove by one of the local polling places on the way to work, not in the middle of the city, but rural/suburban area. Cars was parked up and down the side of the highway with people hoofing it all the way up to the church (where the voting area is, which itself has a large parking area and long ass driveway to get up to it)...

Turn out here in FL is high as hell!

But they don't have the "experimental patches" Ohio installed just a few days ago, do they?

Way I see it, I'd already voted, and it was in their rest area, so bugger me. I'm just as guilty in this.

Blows my mind. I filled out my ballot this morning, drove to downtown Eugene Oregon and parked at my moms credit union. Once there, I shot the shiat with my mom for about 20 minutes. Then walked 2 blocks and chatted up some people watching the drop box. Dropped my ballot in and headed back to work. Still had plenty of time to grab some food (which I just finished before this post).

Dunno why more states cannot be as efficient as Oregon. And I do not think they are terribly efficient.
