HanlonsRazor: Roseanne Barr is on my ballot. I wonder if that is true all over the U.S., or just in California.

She was also on the ballot in Colorado. But you still have to write in "Lizard People".

Ayn Rand's Social Worker: I was seriously toying with a vote for Jill Stein or Gary Johnson. But in the end, I went with our President. He's done a pretty damned good job considering the insanity his opposition has confronted his every move with.

Sad I couldn't vote against Darrell Issa, thought I was in his district but I guess I'm in 50. Whatever that means...

I was briefly looking at Rocky Anderson, until he posted the brilliant idea that we just collect solar power in the poor areas of Africa, and ship it here.

When I brought up the inherent problems with that idea, I was shouted down (online) like a Ron Paul forum thread about how great the Gold Standard would be.

JonZ1618: This election, oddly enough, I'm breaking my own personal rules. I'm voting straight democrat without even knowing 2/3 of the candidates. The Republicans have gone off the deep end, and in 2008 and 2010 I abstained from voting in races I was unfamiliar with. Now, I've become just jaded enough to vote party line without a second thought. I really, truly, sincerely hope that I don't have to do that again in 2014 and 2016, and can instead vote for 3rd party candidates I like. It's just, after these past 4 years, I cannot in good conscience do anything to increase the chances of Republican victory, and that includes not voting for the Democrat. Again, given a few years time to cool their jets, I hope the Republicans come back to sanity and ignore or explicitly distance themselves from the crazier elements in their party, so that I won't have to make my vote an explicit attack upon them once again.

Wait...are you me? I really don't know because I am pretty drunk right now. I think you might be me.

/Used to be registered republican, then was Independent
//Now I can't in good conscience vote anything but Democrat
///If Republicans win tomorrow I will actually be actively afraid for the country for the first time ever

The Middle of the George Washington Bridge: Edward Bernays and Daniel Kahneman are two people whose body of work you should know about before voting tomorrow. They've proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that every human in America is completely incapable of making the perfectly rational informed decision at the heart of traditional economic theory. Free market fundamentalists simply can't account for this massive hole in their ideology. They've been proven wrong. If you're voting because you want the economy to grow, vote for someone who understands that traditional economics is a good theory/approximation but in no way absolute.

Beyond that:

Romney: Pro Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission
Romney: Pro expansion of military and military budget
Romney: Pro abstinence education
Romney: Pro Guantanamo Bay
Romney: Pro offshore drilling (Think BP Disaster)
Romney: Pro Unilateralism
Romney: Pro Torture
Romney: Pro American Exceptionalism
Romney: Anti Roe v. Wade,
Romney: Anti Same Sex Marriage
Romney: Anti Pot Legalization
Romney: Anti planned parenthood
Romney: Anti Stem Cell Research
Romney: "Corporations are people"
Romney: Would Repeal Obamacare
Romney: Would Pull PBS funding
Romney: Accused Obama of going on an "apology tour" with the premise that the world didn't actually deserve an apology for the behavior of the GWB administration.
Romney: With no exceptions believes in a theory of economy predicated on "perfect information" (See bernays)
Romney: Believes god lives near the planet Kolob
Romney: Does Not Believe in Climate Change

The world didn't deserve shiat. The President of the United States is not accountable to the world. Bush deserves all the criticism in the world for his imperial adventures; those criticisms, however, are of a nature that they squandered American blood and treasure--not that they offended some two-bit asshole in Caracas or Tehran.

Wow - thats naive. 'teaderpers' will cry conspiracy no matter what happens.

Probably, but if the numbers are decisive enough, their cries will fall on deaf ears.

Plus, I'm a little tired of the "Both sides are bad, so vote for the Republican who got trounced in the primary" argument.

You're voting for which 3rd party? Obama is an objectively better idea than Johnson or Stein or any of them. None of the 3rd parties are remotely serious. It's just not a plausible idea right now

3rd partise are much smarter targeting local levels, then working their way up to state level, then perhaps presidential level. Otherwise they are juts a few cooks that run each year hoping to spoil teh election for the D or R.

ExperianScaresCthulhu: Vote third party.

My problem with third parties is that anyone who runs knowing they're going to get less than 5% of the vote, is obviously either too crazy or fanatical to be qualified to hold office.

Hopefully in before hearing from uppity cocksuckers about the importance of voting.

With both candidates moving towards the center, many people ultimately see such little difference that they lose interest in the election. Turnout is low-but for this example, that actually reflects the fact that the election process is working well.

Yes, both toward the center. If you think there is a huge difference between Democrats and Republicans, check out the political disparity outside this country. I would prefer an Obama win but am holding out on voting until there is a truly pro-science president that will stop raiding dispensaries and start collecting taxes from religious organizations. You know, Change.
