Already Disturbed: A Republican-leaning relative just called me saying she's not going to vote for herself, but for her grandchildren. I said, yes, exactly. Long silence from her. I wonder if her internal struggle will be resolved before she actually enters the voting booth.

I had a sheikh once tell me that pizza was brain food because anytime he saw several college students gathered, pizza was the food of choice. I couldn't argue the logic.

People, the rules are:

If you put some politically apathetic infographic or message down, it has to be followed with "So Vote Republican".

This is not Vietnam, Dude, there are rules.

Remind her what turns into a voucher program for everyone under 55 if she cares about her grandkids that much.

I try not to make an issue about other people's personal freedoms, unless they are actually HARMING me. I may not like being sloshed with other people's beer, but I am not voting for prohibition because it annoys me.

You get me, now?

starsrift: HeartBurnKid: starsrift: On the pothead state amendments?

Here's the issue. I don't care if you're high or not, potheads. I hate having to walk through the reek of your stench as I walk, anywhere. If your drug didn't smell so bad, I wouldn't care. As far as I see it, marijuana consumption is a social issue, not criminal.

And, as we all know, something smelling bad is a great reason to throw people into jail. I eagerly await the ballot initiative to criminalize Axe body spray.

QFT.
If marijuana was legal but limited to, I dunno, dens in commercial areas? TOTALLY COOL.

Well, why don't we start by not ruining lives over it, and then we can figure out where it is and isn't socially acceptable?

Really? How easy is it to find ammo? I think according to the ZSG, I think a bolt-action is supposed to be the best anti-zombie weapon.

ammo is cheap as all hell and plentiful. another advantage is the 91/30 can also be used as an oar.

knbber2: I'm just wondering what the Fark Liberal to Conservative split is: 80/20? 70/30? Not trying to troll or anything, but it seems like there are many more liberals in most of these threads, that or they are just more vocal (NTTAWTT).

It used to be a lot more balanced. Then, you know, Dubya happened. I think Fark is a pretty good representation of what the Republicans have done to their support among "young people." This is not a political or liberal site -- it's organically made up of whomever decides to post here.

I think most people realize I can't stand Romney. He sucks. I would never vote for him.

However, Obama sucks even worse. He actually could have done something. Did he? No. All he did was get Osama (credit for that).

I see ads for Obama today saying "Let's finish what we started." Finish what you started? What did you start? You didn't start anything. You got elected, then did nothing. You had two years of control of congress to start something.

I have a better idea, Mr. President. How about you START what you started?

I live in a state where Obama will finish tied for 9th, so my vote doesn't make any difference. And since my state has the worst write-in tally enumeration in the country by far, I can't even throw my vote away on Vermin Supreme and have it make the paper (in 2008 we reported final figures on a whopping TWO candidates...no other state reported fewer than 5).

So I will just have to take solace in knowing this retarded bullshiat will finally be over tonight, and in knowing that while Obama hasn't done deuce squat, that is sometimes a good thing, and relish that he is still not George Bush.

Just would like to share:

My Grandfather - 87 years old, Baptist, non-drinker. Hard worker. Voted for Reagan. Probably voted for Bush. Voting for OBAMA.

Why?

1) He knows Math. Romney's tax plan is bullshiat.
2) His wife was mentally ill most of her adult life. Do you think the GOP is going to do anything to help that?
3) Despite his faith (which he doesn't speak openly about much), he doesn't want the theofascists getting the helm. He quotes Barry Goldwater frequently.
4) He realizes that Bush was a mistake and that Romney is using most of the same advisers. WHY in the F*CK would you give the keys back to the drunk drivers?

Seriously, are you retarded? You are if you blame the President for the economy and give the keys back to the same assholes who made this mess. There is no metric, stat, or trend that can prove that Obama wrecked the economy or is keeping it from recovering. If you think you have one, put it in your mouth and choke on it, because it is a f*cking Fox News lie.

They have covered it up. Non-issue. Mural pre-dates election by quite a bit. It's just a school mural.

The Great EZE: I just want to say that the Obama supporters here have been delightful. I know the politics tab can look like an Obama-Biden campaign office at times, but I don't think the support ever got obnoxious. It was always thoughtful, fair, and hilarious. And it made for a nice respite from bumping heads with Conservatives out in the real world.

If things don't go our way, it's all good. Better to be right and alone than wrong and crowded. And I still wouldn't want to be associated with any other group of losers than you guys. I say that as a Cubs fan.

While I agree, if your convictions about your candidate are so weak that they can be changed by seeing a farking mural, perhaps you shouldn't be voting in the first place.

He did as much as he could do with an obstructionist congress mounting a record number of filibusters. He's not a Monarch. He can't force his agenda onto the country without congressional approval.

Oh, and he got 10's of millions of Americans healthcare coverage, and passed stimulous packages and financial bailouts that saved our economy, risking his entire presidency in the process. YOU'RE WELCOME.
