"Worse" is a subjective term that can not be defined in an article like that. If you want to call it worse, that's fine, but it's only an opinion. If you are lamenting a decline in actual beer quality, then I'd like to see your data, because that's the only way you can make pronouncements like that: if you have sensory or chemical data to back it up.

I saw it last night. The upside of being a high-functioning alcoholic pilot: You get to wake up with an insanely-hot chick that you may throw under the bus later if you want. You also get to fly a jet full of people upside down and be treated like a hero when most of 'em don't die.

What's really wild is that the LD/50 ratio for alcohol is something like 5-10 (maybe .06-.08 BAC to get a buzz, .50-.60 for a fatal overdose) and I think the LD/50 ratio for many prescription pills is in a similar range. So anybody who insists that marijuana prohibition has anything to do with public safety is utterly clueless...

BTW, the previous citation was from The Nation. It's a bit out-of-date, but I'm sure Anheuser-Busch is still funneling money to the anti-legalization efforts.

Naw, nobody ever lost their job due to being drunk or severely hung over. I'll bet that alcohol has probably caused more sick days and workplace accidents than all other mind-altering drugs combined.

I know plenty of stoners and that's happened to exactly nobody. Alcohol, on the other hand, is implicated in the majority of violent crimes, including murder, in America. If you really do think that pot makes a person psychotic, you better lay off the booze because it's killing the few brain cells you have left.
