Bitten two mailmen?

Poor Vick. He's done his time, and he deserves more respect than cheap insults. Yet you people insist on not letting go of that bone and that his past should keep dogging him.

They've only played six games?

/also, he's only thrown 8 picks? Given that I've heard whining about his turnovers every week and I know he threw 4 INTs in Week 1, I thought it'd be more than that

Eagles season ticket holder here. I'll pause while you point and laugh.

While Vick makes terrible decisions far too often he's NOT the guy calling the scripted plays (you know, the guy who has one of the more elusive and versatile running backs in the league on the roster and still calls 50 passes a game), and he's certainly not the guy who let the Falcons score on their first six possessions last week.

Those screaming for Foles refuse to see that putting a less-mobile rookie behind an injury-ravaged makeshift offensive line (that had ONE starter playing last week) is hardly a solution.

Now, if you'll excuse me I have to heave a frozen balloon of horse urine through this police car window.

Awesome...

I agree 100%, anyone putting the blame for the Eagles season on Vick isn't paying enough attention. Our O-line is shredded, and last week the defense didn't show up. I think firing Castillo was more a knee-jerk reaction to a mistake Reid made months ago.

Oh well... the season isn't over yet; we have an easy back-half of the schedule...

I hate Vick, but when he has that hang-dog look after throwing yet another pick-6, I was shocked at how bad I felt. It electrified my desire for victory.

Sure, at this point I guess you can pretty much drown the Eagles' playoff chances in a bathtub. Heck none of it matters to me. I have no dog in this fight.

watching them fail makes me happy simply to have all my friends and family around Philly crabby all off season. Listening to them say next year is our year is like listening to Cubs fan say next year is our year. Except Cubs fans are finally accepting their mediocre existence

The Eagles' O-Line is horrific and McCoy only gets about 16 carries a game. And you wanna blame Vick?

McCoy's carries the past five games: 13, 23, 16, 14, 16.

They only won one of the past five games. Wanna guess which one?

It's because they are cheap turnovers where he's holding the ball away from his body just begging guys to knock it away.

Annnnnnd Philly fans are seeing phase 3 of Vick, its everyone else's fault but his, phase 4 is "I'm so sorry for blaming others, I take 110% of the blame for my actions"

Phase 5 is him getting injured after another contract then getting high all the time.

I hate that indicator. Most times the number of runs isn't why you've won, it happened because you were winning. Teams usually call more runs to wind down the clock when they have the game in hand.

correlation something something causation

Me too.

Then again, 7-point game, Minnesota vs Seattle, early in the 4th quarter:

Minnesota:
Pass attempt (Ponder scrambles for 2)
Peterson runs for 12
Pass attempt (dump off to Peterson for 5)
Pass attempt (incomplete)
Pass attempt (incomplete)
Punt

/number of times Minnesota should pass with Percy Harvin injured: 0
//Vikings gained 2 yards per pass attempt for the game

I am friends with a Vikings fan on FB. First few games he was saying Ponder was HOF-bound. Last few games he has been oddly quiet.

But, for the Eagles, it *IS* an accurate indicator. Because the Eagles don't get in the position to "wind down the clock" if they don't run the ball during the rest of the game. They have a habit of trying to throw for 20+ yards on 3rd-and-3. Of trying to use the screen pass (which Vick is not good at, btw) and little dump-offs to replace the running game. If those passes aren't working right, they go 3-and-out for most of the game, and then put themselves in the position at the end of the game of trying to catch up, which of course doesn't work either.

In the other two he (and they) haven't turned it over at all. Oddly enough they lost the second of those by 13 points.

He keeps dropping it before he can throw it to an opponent.

Though a I'm Steelers fan, my son favors the team from eastern PA. Not that you would have any trouble getting rid of them, but give me a ring if you need to unload a couple of tickets. We both like Andy and hope Vick can get himself out of the doghouse.

The Eagles, from announcer commentary, still run a West Coast offense based system, which relies on short passing and dump offs/screens for RBs. If you add in McCoy's catches, you get 16, 26, 20, 21, 19 touches per game, which is not ridiculous.

///Also, an easy announcer IQ test is if they talk about what type of offense the Packers currently run. McCarthy has referred to it as a "modified" West Coast offense, it isn't. McCarthy calls a game like he wishes every RB were a WR, and every route ended in Go.

Good article by Bill Simmons about Vick getting a raw deal on the blame

After praising VIck the entire article he ends with this stat....

Delhomme: 96 career starts, 56-40 record, 81.3 QB rating, 20,975 passing yards, 126 TDs, 101 INTs, 5-3 playoff record, 1 Super Bowl appearance.

Vick: 99 starts, 56-41-1 record, 80.7 QB rating, 19,375 passing yards, 120 passing TDs, 80 INTs, 2-3 playoff record, 0 Super Bowl appearances.

Vick drowned and electrocuted dogs who weren't mean enough to kill other dogs so him and his buddies could bet on the fights. I love the game of football, but just because he can run fast and throw well doesn't mean that morally he deserves to be a professional anything. Any human that would knowingly torture other living creatures for their own gain, is a poor excuse for a human being and not worthy of praise in any fashion.

not the military over all, but yeah, fark members of the military who water boarded or otherwise tortured people when it has been shown over and over again that tortured individuals tell you what you want to hear instead of what they know. I want Vick to stay QB for the rest of the season. I want Foles to sit and never see a single play.
That way he can sit and watch from the sidelines and see all the things he SHOULDN'T do.
I don't want that fat walrus to get his stink anywhere near our future quarterback.

Dwight White, one of the better DEs to play for the Steelers, was rumored to have set fire to a cat to express his outrage upon discovering that the 3 Stooges were not actually hurting each other. Many of these people are not exemplary human beings. Nobody gives a fark. Their job is to play winning football, not run the country or anything actually important. When they stop playing winning football, we send them back to the gutter from whence they came, in most instances.
