When will all of this end?

Yeah, the rest of us are annoyed by the fact that Ohio will basically decide who wins too.

2012-11-05 03:03:29 PM
Which is why we invite them over once every four years, hope for nice presents, and change the locks when they leave.

2012-11-05 03:19:10 PM
If Ohio would just get its shiat together, the candidates would stop annoying the State.

So get rid of some of your blithering right-wing jackasses and stop being a swing state.

Or, I suppose, get rid of the centrists, go red and help bring the entire system down.

2012-11-05 04:12:33 PM
don't worry Ohio the entire nation will be back to not giving a shiat about your state for the next 4 years.

"Talk is cheap," Romney said. "But a record is real, and it's earned with real effort. Change is not measured in words you speak, change is measured in achievement."

How does he say things like that without immediately catching on fire, or peals of laughter? What has he achieved beyond making a lot of money for himself and shipping jobs overseas?

Would someone post one of those long list of things Obama has done so I can copy and paste it for my tea bagger friend who won't leave me alone.

This is not always true. Obama had a rally today and a local deli in the area had to shut down several hours early because it ran out of food. Apparently having having your business on a street corner with several thousand people lined up right next to it has it perks.

You have to play hard to get with your candidates if you want their attention. Coy little Ohio, fresh off the bus and so naive. All she needs is some help getting around town, maybe some money to get her on her feet to start her acting career. Depending on who persuades this young ingenue, she either be a superstar or a pornstar.

California is the battered ex-wife who would still do anything for her ex-husband, even though he won't give her the time of day.

There are 10 swing states this cycle - more than there usually are. Are you really suggesting that over 4/5ths of the states are battered wives?

// not that I'll argue too much

Just be grateful that you live in a state where your vote actually matters. I've never lived in a swing state until this election year, and although the barrage of ads is awful, I love the fact that, for the first time in my entire life, I get to help choose the next president. It has never been anything more than a protest vote before now.

I live in California, and while there's basically ins't a Presidential election going on, there sure is an election for ten propositions, the State Assembly, the State Senate, Congress, and mayor. The volume of such varies depending on exactly where you live in the state, and I live in ground farking zero. I think I got about twenty different political flyers in the mail on Saturday, and am averaging about a phone call a day from somebody. The amount of internet banner ads, TV ads, and radio ads is pretty high as well.

You will note that there is basically not a Senate race here, though. I saw a single TV ad for Feinstein; her Republican opponent has never won an election of any sort (she previously ran in a Congressional primary and finished fourth) and in the new "jungle" primary only got 12.5% of the total vote (compared to Feinstein's 49.3%).

I would mostly be annoyed by the fact that the national election shiat has got to be drowning out the state and local election news, which is usually more important. Anyone with an IQ over 10 made up their mind on the presidency months ago, but there's still sometimes last-minute info you need on initiative items, state congressional elections, municipal officers, and so on that's probably hard to find in the OBAMAROMNEYBAMAORNMEYOBANEYBANANAFANAFOBAMARERIROROMNANA shiat blanketing the info-streams.

If all you are getting is a cup of chili maybe. The sides vary greatly. Certain places have much better fries for example, some places (like Dixie) have additional toppings like minced garlic for 3ways/conies. Some places use better hot dogs etc. I am with you, they are all good, but some are much better than others.
