This appears to just be a plan to "coat" all of the existing things at the Magic Kingdom with Star Wars themed things.

I'd expect a new Star Wars "land"-like area at DHS before a whole new park, but even that's going to take a while.

Will there be a Wampa petting zoo?

They need to build something that will do a 3D body scan and then using a 3D printer spit out a version of you frozen in carbonite. Different sizes for different prices, etc.

We never saw them eat, did we? What the hell kind of food is there for concessions?

And the carnival games would finally give you a chance to shoot a storm trooper laser and discover why they couldn't hit anything.

I'm in....I just got back from Disney World and rode Star Tours with my son 5x. We loved it and wished they had more Star Wars rides. Seriously Disney, I will take my kid there yearly for vacation if you start building it now. In other words what has been said before but with .jpg

It would be more feasible if they did posters super imposing you on them. Although with 3d printers getting cheaper and the amount of time it would take to add a star wars wing on the park, I think it might be doable...

About 10 years ago a friend and I came up with a theme park concept which wasn't just a rehash of existing Disney rides. We had a dueling coaster Pod-Race and a top-mounted Trench Run coaster and Jabba's Palace - Dinner & Floor Show. (Accidental boobage sadly not included)

That would explain why the 2nd sentence of the 3-sentence article reads...

"Artist Tom Hodges - who has worked for Lucasfilm on the Clone Wars comics - dreamt up this amazing theme park for the Star Wars Celebration based off an old 1966 Disneyland Map. And we wouldn't change a thing."

This is slightly off-topic, but my wife asked me, on Friday: "Does this mean Princess Leia is now a Disney Princess?" I guess the answer is "yes."

the follow up is that now there will be a bunch of Disney Employees dressed in "Slave Leia" attire running around the park .. and FSM only knows what the cruise line will do

At the Lars homestead with Beru's blue milk, Jabba downing living critters right and left, the dining table laid out in Cloud City when they meet Vader, the sarlacc eating Boba Fett, the Rancor eating a Gamorrean, Jar Jar ruining Sebulba's meal on the street, Jar Jar ruining the meal at Watto's...

It's like nobody ever ate anything?

Didn't Michael Jackson cover this territory with the Captain EO ride?

I stood in line for 45 minutes to see that thing.  I remember very little of it but I remember being absolutely desperate for a drink afterwards.

They have one, it was at Celebration VI, and run by Disney as well. Only 1 size though, and it wasn't very big. $100 and a long wait in line.

Here's a link as well. The article explains it differently, it seemed like they printed them out on-site.

Well, I guess it just shows... Magic Kingdom hasn't fundamentally changed in 50 years.

I was thinking of a gambling-themed section, but I doubt they'd have one in a theme park for all ages.

I don't know if Star Wars can actually carry an entire theme park. Disneyland is built on all of Disney's properties, a huge library stretching back to the 1930s. This is plenty of variety.

I'm thinking the Hollywood section would get most of it. I was thinking when we took the kids this year for our big save up trip at the beginning of the year the had a jedi training thing for little kids going.

How about the Rancor Pit maze? Run around trying to avoid the big, animatronic rancor. You lose when he catches you. The Rancor never loses. :)

That would be quite entertaining XD But in the interest of keeping customers, the rancor would be bound to one spot and only roar and wave at people. Better yet, have three or so rancor robots at different spots to scare the piss out of people.
