If by "notice" you mean "fantasize about," sure.

SlothB77: Mitt Romney had all the momentum. Obama was going down. Then hurricane Sandy hit, flooded New York, knocked out power. And, according to the media over the weekend, propelled Obama to an election victory.

Hurricane Sandy saved Obama. Because nothing gets you reelected like having millions of your own citizens suffer through the cold without food, water, shelter, gas or power for the week befor the election.

Sounds sort of like a certain deity wants Obama to stay in the White House.

Messiahs and altars... you seem to think religion is first and foremost in the minds of people who support Obama. I counter that it is *you* who are bringing religious symbolism into this discussion, perhaps because that's what you find closest to you or perhaps in an attempt to color Obama supporters as religious fanatics. You think in religious terms and somehow you feel that an effective argument is to paint the supporters of your hated [socialist, black - Why, NO I'm not a racist!!! you say] presidential opponent as being religious in their support. I think you are stupid. Not because you oppose Obama, but from the depths of your shallowness as evidenced in your posts here.

The sad thing is that your's is one of the more salient arguments from your side. This leaves me very sad.

jvl: thurstonxhowell: jvl: All Presidents get blamed for insufficient disaster relief after major natural disasters. Looks to me like Obama is going to get lucky though and the unfair blame will mostly occur after the election.

All presidents get blamed for insufficient disaster relief when their is insufficient disaster relief. The response to Sandy has been a study in how to do it right.

It's bit early to judge. Katrina was more obvious one week in due to the people left in the Superdome. Also, the fact that Bush had a moron in charge of FEMA. I imagine when the subways still don't work in a month, people will blame the Army Corp (and Obama) for being unprepared even though that's obviously New York's responsibility to be prepared for.

A month? Here, take a look at the last two days (PDFs):

Nov 3 subway map

Nov 5 subway map

I suspect the only way you'll be able to tell anything was wrong in a month will be some high water lines on the walls that they haven't cleaned off yet.

Threads probably dead...but just want to point out that Bloomberg actually told Obama not to come pretty much. Obama was planning on coming to NYC and Bloomberg told him it was unwarranted and his time was better spent in NJ where the brunt of the damage is

"'Scuse me, kids, I got some presidentin' to do"
*exit to hallway*
Farking difficult, that!

The fact that Bush didn't jump up out of his seat, tell everyone, pull out his ivory revolvers and point them towards Mecca was a sign of weakness.

The fact that he sat there with a dumb look on his face, and then went back to reading a children's book made him look like an idiot. Made it look like our country was run by an idiot. Made America look like idiots. He didn't have to turn into Captain Texas and charge into battle, but it would've been nice if he did something.

Mhmm, what might have you looked like if you were told your whole neighborhood went up in flames, while sitting there in a preschool class full of easily emotional children? Personally I'm glad he didn't "jump the gun" and chose to at least wait a bit. After all, what good could he do suddenly rushing anywhere?

Which is the exact same narrative that the GOP is using on the Libyan attack on the consulate.

Wrong.

The narrative that the GOP is pushing in regards to Bengazhi, is asking why the president stood in front of the UN and called it violence sparked by outrage against a video and why the administration's position for the first 2 weeks thereafter was that it was mob violence. If we didn't have the complete story as to what happened, there was no reason to issue anything more than "it was an attack" and piece together the evidence from there. It should have been noted, however that the building was attacked with mortar fire, which any boy-scout would tell you has to be dialed in and isnt usually brought to protests by flashmobs. Just sayin.

By the way, there is no GOP position or democrat position. There is what actually happened, and what liberals tried to spin as happening.

I honestly do not care much about Bengazi-gate, or whatever the wingnuts are trying to hang on the president this week. but, I'll bite:
