It's much easier for another person from the countries that don't bathe to come here and bring every farking relative, no matter how little schooling or understanding of English, than it is for a skilled American. I like Americans. I don't like non-integrating ghettos. Americans are all about integration.

To them we'll only ever be Shatner-stealing Mexico touchers.

The hilarity of it: All the Rape-ublicans threatening to move to Canada if Obama wins another four years. "Obama's turning us into a socialist nation with all those homo-loving laws and his communist healthcare! So we're gonna move to a country that... has legalized same-sex marriage and universal healthcare..."

Don't get me wrong: I've looked into Canada's political asylum laws. While I don't fear for my life if Romney wins, should he win and then DIE, and Paul Ryan be put in the driver's seat - I'm requesting asylum.

There really ought to be a citizen exchange -- One Canadian for one USA -- that would keep the North American continent from tipping over and falling into the oceans, like what happened in Long Island last week.

I would too love to move to Sweden, but the significant other refuses to move anywhere further than 3 hours from her family. so that pretty much locks me into New England :(

If my candidate doesn't win, the other candidate will be my President. I will somehow find a way to cope with this...probably by thinking about something else, like roofing shingles, for example.

Apparently MadSkillz has never spent any time in America and specifically the South, despite living very close to the border in Surrey BC.

Nobody wants people to move north. Americans complain about Mexicans, Oregonians complain about Californians, so it make sense Canada doesn't want to be overrun by Americans.

The way to solve our immigration problem is to have quid pro quo with ALL other countries. There are more than enough Americans that want to leave if we were allowed to, and with the acceptance of a host nation. The duty of our government should be to negotiate and facilitate the movement of disgruntled citizens to the country of their ethnic origin. I'm sure there won't be any black takers though.

My wife recently was headhunted for a job in Canada. After two rounds of interviews she was told she was the leading candidate and the company was interested in hiring her.

One week later the headhunter called her back. The company didn't want to bother going through the trouble of filling out immigration paperwork and decided to hire a very-less-qualified Canadian at pretty much the same salary. And we're talking "very less" as in "had zero experience in the job they were hiring the Canadian for."

We're taking this to mean Canadian companies will pretty much never, ever hire Americans.

Canada should require that all new immigrants live like my Grandparents did when they immigrated: live in Saskatchewan in a sod shack with no electricity, heat, or running water for a number of years.

I've seen Americans with physics degrees (Masters, PhD) get rejected. It's not enough to have skills, you need to have skills and apply at exactly the right time.

I seriously looked into it back when Dubya was doing his best to bring on Armageddon. But it is extremely difficult. So I guess I'll be sticking around during the remainder of the American disintegration process.

Vote for whom you like tomorrow. If you're not rich, you're farked either way. The more you make, the longer it'll take for you to get farked, but don't worry... you'll get there.

My grandfather LOVES to tell the story of going to Canada for work. He was a president of a major US company who was moving to Canada to head up the division in Toronto (this would have been in the late 50's early 60s I'm guessing). Well he was stopped at the border and they questioned him for a very long time about why he was going to Canada etc. He was trying to explain that he would be running a major company (president etc). The border guy was like we have plenty of people in Canada to do that etc. Really gave my grandfather a hard time. It wasn't until my grandfather said he was an engineer that the guy relented and my grand parents were allowed in.

They still get pissed telling that story.
