I'll be one of those 'fanatics.' Election day.. so exciting! I even did the CNN electoral college map along with my brother and we're going to go over it, state-by-state to see who was more accurate in his predictions.

If a rogue precinct in California threatens to hand the election to Alfred E. Neuman, I could grab my machine gun, jump in my jet, fly over, and put a stop to the mess. But I seem to have misplaced my M2 and SR-71. So I might as well sleep.

I agree with the premise. We'll have a pretty clear winner by about 7:30 or 8 EST with almost all states good enough to call by 9. I'm guessing that FL, NC, and VA might be too close to call early, but it will likely not matter.

Eh, once Ohio is called you'll know if it's time to go to bed or not.

If Ohio is called for Obama, bedtime. If Ohio is called for Romney, you might stay up to see if he carries the every other swing state he still needs to win the election.

i could see it going all night. but the swing states will tell the Miller's Tale.

once the swing states start going Obama, then you can go on and go to bed and sleep like a baby. you don't have to wait for the other states to come in. the Republic is safe, at least for another 4 years.

The best a poll by one of the most right-wing newspapers in PA could do was a tie. How on earth do they think Romney will win PA?

...family values -- love, responsibility, education, self-respect, and self-reliance through dignified employment -- are the foundation for any prosperous nation.

Oh, so that's what they mean by family values.

I should have known. After all, as an unmarried man with no children, I value hatred, irresponsibility, self-loathing, and dependence on others through shameful underemployment.

I think it's unlikely that it'll be that close in enough states to tip the balance and thus usher in a repeat of 2000. Also it's no secret which way New York and New Jersey will vote.

Yeah, him and Limbaugh are going to lose it when Romney wins. Oh, they'll be happy for a minute because their side won, but then they'll realize they won't have Barack to complain about anymore.

And biatching for three hours a day about Harry Reid just isn't going to keep the ratings up.

The last four states left uncalled will be Virginia, Florida, Ohio, and Colorado.

Since everything else is basically decided, if Obama wins ONE of those states the election is over. So they'll hold back calling those states until the end.
