Aarontology: The Politics Tab commits mass seppuku.
mamoru: Aarontology: The Politics Tab commits mass seppuku.Wait. That doesn't sound like such a bad thing. Hmmmm... this merits a moment of consideration. :-/
Mentat: Obama were to lose, Democrats would suddenly be leaderless for the first time in half a decade and would be forced to confront agonizing questions about the viability of their party's agenda - health care reform, most of all.In other words, the Democrats will learn exactly the wrong message. They will assume that the centrist Democrat was "too liberal" and will lurch back to the "center" like they always do. The problem isn't the message, it's that the party as a whole isn't bold enough to defend.
doyner: All I know is that there have been enough shenanegans to ensure that large portions of the population won't have faith in the validity of the count regardless of who "wins."So we have that to look forward to.

paygun: I don't think it's possible but if he does lose the fark politics tab will be my first stop. It'll be hilarious.
whidbey: Yeah getting off on our country going straight down the shiatter. Tons of fun.
The Great EZE: America won't be ruined. We'll continue our recovery and eventually reach "normal" employment in the next four years. It's just that a well-connected, privileged plutocrat will take credit for it instead of the smart, moderate, populist who didn't get much handed to him yet still got the ball rolling. So what else is new?
Ardilla: There's no farking reason that article should have been spread across 4 pages. Screw you, Politico, and your click-trolling.
Tor_Eckman: In reality, very little will change. Republicans will certainly not have a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, and unless we have another 9/11 the minority will not just roll over like they did for Bush.So in the unlikely scenario that Mitt does win, there will be no Iran invasion, no Obamacare repeal, no medicare vouchers, no new abortion laws, no radical overhaul of our taxes. Congress will not abide. Unfortunately, the same thing will be true when Obama does get re-elected.Either way, it's going to be four more years of a do-nothing congress.
