That speech wasn't very good. Yeah he's dying and all, but I don't know why anyone thought that was a good speech. Not exactly Gehrig quality

I'll say it in this thread too, would it have been as dramatic a speech if he was talking to his team WITHOUT cameras in his face

The answer: no

"You know where they had us in the beginning. Every last one of them. But you refused to live in circumstances and you decided consciously as a team and as a family to live in a vision. And that's why you bring things home. That's why you're champions."

As a Colts fan whose grandfather beat leukemia and someone who faces the possibility of dealing with it myself in the future, I was kinda moved.

I am a Pats fan who always enjoyed the Colts because Manning v. Brady. It sucked without him last year. By the time Luck is a legend, Brady will be gone, but all the same, I got to appreciate the Colts organization.

Jesus Baltimore, and Maryland, practically forced Irsay the elder to move the farking team, then went and took one form another city.

And he kept repeating himself. I know people do that when they're emotional, and I agree that this was a very good motivational speech, but it wasn't one of the greats. Great sports speeches don't mention dancing at weddings (twice, at that).

It is worthy of the coverage it has received, but it's not one of the greats. And if you think it should be on the list, go watch Jimmy V's 1993 Espy speech and then reconsider.

Seriously? It's Baltimore's own fault that they don't have the Colts still. Your legislature tried to steal the team from Robert Irsay, filing a BS imminent domain claim, all because they didn't want to build a stadium that was badly needed. What would any rational business man do when he's about to lose a billion dollar company, for nothing? Anyone who says they'd do anything different is a liar.

Like Irsay's lawyer said, the city of Baltimore didn't just put a gun to his head, they cocked it and asked if he wanted to see if it was loaded.

The city of Baltimore dumped on the Colts, and they left. Get over it.
