(Snopes)   So you've probably heard about how the electrical workers from Alabama were turned away in NJ because they don't belong to a union, right? Well, you may be surprised to find out that the story is complete bullshiat   (snopes.com) divider line 92

Please, like we'd ever be lied to like that. Pffft. Pull the other one.

If a republicker's mouth is moving, it's telling a lie.

2012-11-05 06:51:47 AM
Well I got an email that said that Fox News said that Snopes is liberal propaganda, so there.

2012-11-05 06:52:11 AM
Drudge told me that story. It must be true! Everything Matt tells me is true. That's how I know Mitt Romney is going to win tomorrow!

2012-11-05 06:52:31 AM
I think the 'papers' that crew thought were union papers were, far more likely of the licensing, certification, and insurance variety.

Simple misunderstanding thanks to a few simple people.

2012-11-05 06:52:45 AM
No, this is the first I heard of it.

Yep. Fox News will run the correction at around 3:48 Thursday morning.

Yeah, I like that claim. The people who make it get strangely silent when you point out the number of times they take down the Left, or the amount of sourcing they do for these articles. They cover their asses pretty well.

2012-11-05 06:57:29 AM
I'm going to assume that every article I read from now until the election is over is complete bullshiat.

2012-11-05 06:58:14 AM
I knew it was bullshiat as soon as John Stossel said it.

2012-11-05 06:58:17 AM
I'm so f*cking sick of Republicans. There, I said it.

2012-11-05 07:00:13 AM
What a shameless way to use a terrible disaster to promote the anti-union viewpoint. Talk about sickening and desperate.

Shame on the IBEW for wanting workers to make a living wage. WHY DOES THE IBEW HATE AMERICA?!

2012-11-05 07:08:44 AM
You don't say?

Paramedic/EMT union member, former police union member, son of a life long UAW member who now is steward of a public transit union, grandson of a Grandfather and Grandmother who were both life long UAW members, other grandfather was a welding journeyman union steward, and how many other members of my family in various unions like stone cutters, masons, teachers, and carpenters.

I don't even just find these attacks annoying and unsubstantiated, but downright insulting. The Democrats by and large suck, but at least they aren't actively trying to destroy everything that made this country an economic superpower last century.

/didn't realize just how deep in union culture my family and I were until I listed it just now...

Total BS. Here in W Virginia, where union is king, we had a massive power outage due to a windstorm this summer. There were bucket trucks from all over the country here.

2012-11-05 07:09:27 AM
Frankly, at least if they were union you would know that they have the training and experience to not kill themselves or you. I can do a lot of residential/commercial stuff, but for insurance purposes you don't want me in your house doing anything. To put it more in terms that people on Fark can understand- what would happen if a PC user tried to work on an Apple computer?

2012-11-05 07:10:37 AM
It would be useful, as a discerning device, for someone to track all the bullshiat spewed by all the bullshiat web sites during this cycle. We could rank all these idiots according to how often they sent us down a rabbit hole, how often they lied, how often they put their thumbs on the scale, how often they trolled us.

It's amazing to me that Drudge, who does all those things every minute of every day, has any traffic at all. He's willfully inaccurate and completely partisan. He's a hack of the first order, and the second.

And yet he gets traffic for his lies, for his deceptions, for his trolling. What a farking business.

yeah all the local papers and newscasts were running with this story. of course they're all conservative propaganda mills but that's the way it is here in the south.

More BS stories from the people who want to eliminate all unions to promote their, "'Fairness' means that you individually have no ability to oppose your decrease in pay and increase in work productivity requirements" mantra.

Subby and the posters here have obviously missed the point: this story tells a higher truth. It is illustrative of a larger point, and whether or not it is strictly factual is irrelevant.

No he wasn't but, he IS a successful businessman (got that way by cheating on his wife and marrying an heiress who gave him $250k to start his business) who went out and bought a $90,000 Porsche Saturday morning and then explained to me how high taxes were preventing him from giving his workers a $5 a week raise. Very concerned about Shaniqua and her welfare, but I'll give him this: when I said the white bankers took this country for more than every single welfare mom put together ever, he paused.

Give him a few years for his new wife to leave him, taking, as Eddie Murphy put it, "HALF!" Come to think of it, if she gave him the startup capital, she could get more than that.

That'll bring him back down to humility.

So not everyone is as hyper partisan as Fox? Even unions?

Well paint me purple, spank my ass, and call me Nancy, that just don't make no sense.

Oh, that story is still making the rounds on Facebook. I just did a search of public posts for the word "unionized" and found several people still posting it for the first time this morning.

None of them on the timeline of any of my friends, thankfully.

What? Republicans gleefully using something which damages America for their own political gain? Color me shocked!

This is why all Republicans love it when something bad happens to this country. Rush Limbaugh (the apotheosis of Republican thinking) made it most clear when we didn't get to host the Olympics a couple of years ago, and he was happy because it made America look weak.

Also, look at how much Republican semen dribbled down the front of millions of mobility scooters on 9/11. They ate that shiat up! "Finally!" thought every Republican, "We can legally kill brown people!".

Now that things are winding down in the middle east, they are desperately looking for more brown people to legally kill, which is why they are inventing all the outrage over Benghazi.
