What are they complaining about, this is ROMNEY's vision for America. Woman and children out in the cold and without help, all to benefit the wealthy.

When you put it that way, it DOES make perfect sense. I wonder why they're not allowed to leave, though...

I find this hilarious.

2012-11-04 09:09:13 PM
To be fair, those people just realized they were in Bucks County when Romney played to crowd and now they want to leave.

More and more tweets coming in, starting to look legit :x I hope it's not true too.... but it's definitely cold enough in PA to get frostbite tonight.

2012-11-04 09:11:09 PM
WTF? Why would they block the exits? This makes no sense.

It does, however, make good comedy. If you're not trying to get out with a half-frozen kid.

It's like kettle corn, but with children.

This is Romney's Katrina.

To be clear, the people asking to leave were delayed because of security concerns -- not bc of a Romney staff decision.

Way to win over a state you really didn't have a chance to win over anyway.

Other people who left say they're HUGE Romney supporters, just cold and tired, or with sick kids and spouses.

Rally in PA just went eerily quiet for 3 mins after a man collapsed in the audience. No music. No speaker. He's. Okay now tho.

Jackie Kucinich @JFKucinich

Both volunteers and a secret service were trying to keep people in- it was not just Romney staff.

Bontesla: the people asking to leave were delayed because of security concerns

I wonder what kind of security concern occurs when people try to get further away from a public figure rather than closer.

Real security keeps more targets around in case someone is under attack.

That'll win the press, Romney.

Foolish peasants! If His Lordship, has demanded that you be here, then you must do as you are told. If the God of Kobol had wanted you to not die of hypothermia, He would have given you box seats with a generator. God only likes the rich people, you stupid peasant. Now get back in line and wave the banners or His Lordship will have you taken away.

I can't even imagine. If there's someone with a weapon, wouldn't you WANT the crowd to disperse? I don't know if I'm buying the whole "security" thing.

Don't worry, most of the people at Romney rallies are pixels.

They should have taken their kids closer to the front of the stage, with all the hot air coming from mitt they would be down to their underwear

Apparently it was about 32* degrees @ the rally.

Crowd estimate from Romney's Pennsylvania rally, according to Secret Service, are 25,000. One of his biggest events all year.

Well that's some good news, at least he'll have some good memories to take with him when he goes back to the private sector in january. Who says Americans don't have a sense of civic duty?

I'm still very curious to know what "security thing" requires keeping people in rather than keeping them out. If I were a Romney staffer I'd be getting the Secret Service to explain that in a very easy to understand soundbite as of 2 hours ago.

This pretty much sums the entire Romney campaign.
How is the race this tight?

They probably had to search the place for abandoned backpacks before they'd let anyone leave early

It'll be chalked up to a misunderstanding.
Apparently those who were "begging" to be let out all still fully supported Romney once they were released from custody - er - the rally

Someone tweeted Rachel Maddow. She's usually good with investigations - she might be able to get to the "security concern"

The only thing I could think of that could cause that is a "Code Adam".

For those who haven't worked retail: Code adam is when a child is lost or missing somewhere in the store, requiring staff to secure the doors to prevent an abduction

Code Adams are also followed immediately by as wide of an announcement as possible. It does no good without that. There are no reports of announcements.
