unyon: Not critical, but an important part of the setup. Season 2 is just fine, despite what the whiners say. It gives you the undertones on character motivation, which is important.

It is, especially for the fact the confrontation with the Philly survivors and what to do with Randall, contrasted with how Rick's and Hershel's groups of survivors meet and merge over the first half of the season, sets the theme for the entire third season on its own. The second season is thematically very important to the rest of the show thus far, even if it's not the gorefest survivalist porn many people would rather it be.

Not really. You've met all the characters you're really going to meet until season 3. Though I think suffering through season 2 makes you appreciate Carl's turn for the awesome a lot more.

Two great episodes in a row. The last two episodes alone were better than the total of last seasons episodes.

I would hope they are. I understand the Strangelovian urge to repopulate the planet and all, but damn. It's only been a matter of months since this all started. No woman in her right mind would actually be going out of her way to get pregnant yet.

I do think the scene with Glen and Maggie in the tower was meant to be a little comic interlude before the unimaginable horror that followed. But ... were they supposed to be watching the grounds while they were up there, or did they go up there just to be alone?

They went up there to be alone. Daryl? said somthing about how they were there the day before too.

People would be boning like crazy in that world. Being a survivor would boost sexual desire tremendously. Everybody wants to fark after they do somthing badass. And killing zombies is badass.

Plus, nothing makes people want sex more than seeing death. It's the reason funerals are one of the best places to get laid.

I was thinking along those lines too. If you watch the promo for the next show, everyone is trying to talk Rick from going in somewhere...My thoughts are Carl didn't shoot her, confesses to not doing it, and Rick wants to go in after her. He does, and finds that Carol saved Lori somehow, but with hemorrhaging so much blood, I guess the idea will be she goes into a coma, and that's where Woodbury's nurse and running into Andrea and Michonne come in to play.

She most likely bled to death. She probably went into shock and passed out at first, then died from blood loss.

After the shenanigans in prior seasons with people nitpicking over EVERY..SINGLE...F*CKING...THING they can find to ruin things for normal viewers, I'm pretty sure the powers-that-be are screwing with you.

I"d venture a guess that censors probably didn't want a kid to shoot a "real" human. Zombies ok, real humans not ok. 
Kinda like when you see kids shows with alot of violence. Samurai Jack, Clone Wars... those have alot of violence if you think about it, but the only ones getting dismembered, beheaded, and being destroyed in brutal ways are robots or anything else that is not technically alive.

That being said, but did anyone else think Carl was ready to off that baby when it didn't start breathing right away? You could see on his face he was somewhat relieved till he realized he had to deal with Lori.

Not only that, they're 3 episodes in(Before the most recent, of course), and they haven't explained shiat about what's-her'name, the chick with the sword and the Zombie followers. I understand the concept of a slow reveal, but this is just milking the viewers for more episodes with less writing so they can drag the show out.

It's like all of these shows now that have a year in between seasons, it's just a way to put on your resume that your show-'X' went for 5 years, even though it really only covered the amount of time that a show that ent 3 seasons would cover. Unfortunately, everyone seems to equate this tactic with "Quality over quantity", conveniently ignoring the fact that these shows still follow a standard timeline for pre-production, shooting and post-production. I blame Battlestar Galactica for this, SciFi farked around with this who continually, waiting this long in between seasons, breaking the 4th season in half, etc., and people kept tuning in(Myself included). It's kinda like how the gas companies kept jacking up the price of gas until people started modifying their driving habits in a noticeable way. They set this as their ceiling and backed the prices off. It's all about giving us the absolute least amount that we will put up with while putting in more and more commercials and more and more annoying crap popping up on our screen during the show until they find out how much is too much, then backing off.

I like this show, I'm just tired of trying to remember what the fark happend a year ago when the new season rolls around, and the way they've done this season has really left me wondering if I missed an episode or 3 at some point.

You could have saved a lot of typing by just saying "I have the attention span of oatmeal" or "I have severe ADHD."

This is the show. This is what a good zombie story is: Drama with a horror background. A horror-tinged soap opera, for lack of a better phrase.

If you want a lot of action and less character development, I suggest picking up recent zombie movies like "2012 Zombie Apocalypse" or "Resident Evil" or the 3D remake of "Night of the Living Dead" (which bears NO resemblance to the Romero or Savini versions, but does at least have Sid Haig being gross.)

If you don't like the show, then give up and find something else. There's certainly no shortage of zombie flicks out there now.

T-dawg, well, he didn't exist in the comic, so hard for his character to have any dept, BUT it looks like we finally have our real Tyrese character maybe! Makes more sense than Darryl being Tyrese.

Carol will probably be found dead, and that will lead to more questions, and more death, yay!

Could be that the guy with the axe wasn't the black guy in the room? Did he really have the capability to get out to get a deer? Did he necessarily have to be working alone? Questions, questions...

Andrea could go any which way at this point, her character is nothing like the comic anymore. Still no idea how they're going to interact with the people at the prison, or even find them, since there's no connection like there was in the comic, so there is some surprise left.

I'll agree the last couple episodes have been decent, better than the last two seasons combined, as mentioned.
