unyon: Not critical, but an important part of the setup. Season 2 is just fine, despite what the whiners say. It gives you the undertones on character motivation, which is important.
Snapper Carr: Is it necessary to sit through all of the crappy season 2 to know what's going on in season 3? I've heard 3 is a lot better but I can't get more than 4 episodes into season 2 without wanting to throw something at the screen.
calbert: minor quibble:the sexual relationship between Glen and Maggie. you would think that with all of the drama surrounding Lori and her pregnancy and how it has been affecting the entire group, that Glen and Maggie (or any other 2 characters) would take the high road and just abstain from vaginal intercourse until things settled down.i wonder if Maggie's sexual desire will be extinguished now that she's seen what happened to Lori?and I know that people are people and have urges, but c'mon. not until things are settled.it also just seemed rather silly that scene with Glen and Maggie in the guard tower, that seemed like it was done more for the enjoyment of the crew and it really felt out of place at that time and in their current situation.
WhiskeyBender: ExperianScaresCthulhu: WhiskeyBender: Anybody else think Carl might not have shot Lori since it didn't show it? I could see him keeping her locked up.So now Rick's the Governor pulling out Lori's teeth to kiss her, vomiting and trying again with the conviction that he'll get used to the taste?Stop it! You're making my nipples hard!
that bosnian sniper: Finally a greenlit thread. God damn you, Walking Dead producers?"Oh yeah so you farkers want Lori dead? Okay, we'll deal...we'll give you Lori, but in exchange we're taking T-Dog. Pray we do not alter the deal further".
someonelse: calbert: the sexual relationship between Glen and Maggie. you would think that with all of the drama surrounding Lori and her pregnancy and how it has been affecting the entire group, that Glen and Maggie (or any other 2 characters) would take the high road and just abstain from vaginal intercourse until things settled down.I would hope they are. I understand the Strangelovian urge to repopulate the planet and all, but damn. It's only been a matter of months since this all started. No woman in her right mind would actually be going out of her way to get pregnant yet.I do think the scene with Glen and Maggie in the tower was meant to be a little comic interlude before the unimaginable horror that followed. But ... were they supposed to be watching the grounds while they were up there, or did they go up there just to be alone?
T.M.S.: The close up of Carl's face told you he offed his mom.
kumanoki: inelukii: Carol escaped as a result of T-Dog's sacrifice. She will end up coming across Lori and saving her life. There's a reason they showed Carol practicing on dead bodies. There's a reason T-Dog talked about how his death was going to be worth something. Carl didn't shoot Lori, he just fired a shot in frustration, anger, sadness, whatever. We're not done with Lori yet. I'm ok with that, because I'm very much looking forward to the original plan for her character. That would be a little far-fetched, but based on what we've seen so far, it's entirely plausible.
doctor wu: Jesus, they just start giving T-Dog some dialogue then turn him into shoulder burger.
born_yesterday: And I'm pretty sure Michonne signed her own death warrant by subtly telling the governor that she knows he killed the guardsmen.
PTP_Professor: On IMDB, it shows Lori and Carol both in every episode for the rest of the season, so I don't think either one is gone. Carol probably escaped to safety, Lori probably ends up zombified after carl failed with his attempt at putting her down
FarkerSnow: So, why did Lori die immediately from a c-section? That shouldn't have killed her.
DownTheRabbitHole: I wish the show would stick to the comic more this is starting to get ridiculousI love the show but I am sad how disassociated the writers have become from the original story.
Father_Jack: That killing the guardsmen scene from last week made no sense to me.
FinFangFark: There's an online Q&A with showrunner Glen Mazzara, and one thing asked was if they keep some key elements from the comic, one involving The Governor and Rick. Kirkman has stated he regrets the major character change to Rick as a result of that storyline, and I agree.I don't see that happening in the TV show./cryptic enough?
GameSprocket: Anyone else not trust off-screen deaths on this show? They seem to have very little problem showing the characters getting killed in all kinds of violent ways, why suddenly so shy?I did enjoy the half hour of watching them rearrange vehicles. It looked the the prison had valet parking.
WhiskeyBender: Anybody else think Carl might not have shot Lori since it didn't show it? I could see him keeping her locked up.
GameSprocket: I did enjoy the half hour of watching them rearrange vehicles. It looked the the prison had valet parking.
fusillade762: Did anybody else notice the twitch under the Governor's eye when Merle confronted him about "family"?Voodoo_Stu: Any one else notice the zombies seem to hate mercy? This is at least the second person to go after being the only person arguing to not kill people earlier in the same episode.Ah, you noticed that, too?
Mikey1969: ZeroCorpse: You could have saved a lot of typing by just saying "I have the attention span of oatmeal" or "I have severe ADHD."This is the show. This is what a good zombie story is: Drama with a horror background. A horror-tinged soap opera, for lack of a better phrase. If you want a lot of action and less character development, I suggest picking up recent zombie movies like "2012 Zombie Apocalypse" or "Resident Evil" or the 3D remake of "Night of the Living Dead" (which bears NO resemblance to the Romero or Savini versions, but does at least have Sid Haig being gross.)If you don't like the show, then give up and find something else. There's certainly no shortage of zombie flicks out there now.Cute. I see you've fallen for this line of shiat, too. I know, it's an easy snare, you get to sound more sophisticated without having to understand what writing a TV show is actually about. When the show gets so slow that encountering and killing zombies becomes just a footnote, you've got an issue. Sure, you can get up on your special little soapbox and make ADHD jokes, but it doesn't impress me. 4 weeks of arguing on a farm does nothing to make the show interesting or 'fresh', it just takes a small amount of actual material and stretches it out over as long a span as possible. Whenever they DO get a new piece of drama to deal with, they knock it out ASAP and get back to bickering. The prisoners they ran into inside are a good example, that lasted almost no time, and now we'll get 4 weeks of them wandering around the prison with no new plot development, except that they killed some zombies. Someone will probably cut themselves at some point, and they'll have 5 tense minutes while they embark on a major run to get supplies, then they'll return to clearing the prison or arguing. The whole thing with the 'Governor' may play out well at least.Like I said, you obviously don't know how this works, but the pacing in this show is horrible. It started out well, and has turned ...
Mikey1969: Is anyone else getting fed up with this show? Last season was all arguing on the farm, this season looks like it's going to be all about arguing in the prison. It gets a bit old after awhile. Not only that, they're 3 episodes in(Before the most recent, of course), and they haven't explained shiat about what's-her'name, the chick with the sword and the Zombie followers. I understand the concept of a slow reveal, but this is just milking the viewers for more episodes with less writing so they can drag the show out. It's like all of these shows now that have a year in between seasons, it's just a way to put on your resume that your show-'X' went for 5 years, even though it really only covered the amount of time that a show that ent 3 seasons would cover. Unfortunately, everyone seems to equate this tactic with "Quality over quantity", conveniently ignoring the fact that these shows still follow a standard timeline for pre-production, shooting and post-production. I blame Battlestar Galactica for this, SciFi farked around with this who continually, waiting this long in between seasons, breaking the 4th season in half, etc., and people kept tuning in(Myself included). It's kinda like how the gas companies kept jacking up the price of gas until people started modifying their driving habits in a noticeable way. They set this as their ceiling and backed the prices off. It's all about giving us the absolute least amount that we will put up with while putting in more and more commercials and more and more annoying crap popping up on our screen during the show until they find out how much is too much, then backing off.I like this show, I'm just tired of trying to remember what the fark happend a year ago when the new season rolls around, and the way they've done this season has really left me wondering if I missed an episode or 3 at some point./I'll quit ranting now.
ExperianScaresCthulhu: The point is that it looks bad to get rid of a black character who's been with the group since the beginning, just to replace him with someone else. There was room for both characters. The 'one black quota' doesn't pass the smell test.
ArtosRC: I'm certain that there's some zombie story out there where the fetus is a late term miscarriage and is dead in the womb. Then, of course, it turns and eats its way out of the womb, popping out Alien-style.I wouldn't know, since I'm not partial to horror flicks and the like./Hate 'em
justtray: Lori wasn't going to live much longer anyway, so at least she's gone now.T-dawg, well, he didn't exist in the comic, so hard for his character to have any dept, BUT it looks like we finally have our real Tyrese character maybe! Makes more sense than Darryl being Tyrese.Carol will probably be found dead, and that will lead to more questions, and more death, yay!Could be that the guy with the axe wasn't the black guy in the room? Did he really have the capability to get out to get a deer? Did he necessarily have to be working alone? Questions, questions...Andrea could go any which way at this point, her character is nothing like the comic anymore. Still no idea how they're going to interact with the people at the prison, or even find them, since there's no connection like there was in the comic, so there is some surprise left.I'll agree the last couple episodes have been decent, better than the last two seasons combined, as mentioned.
Outshined_One: I kept waiting for the baby to go zombie and bite Maggie. That would have been a delightful way to fark up Carl for life...even moreso.
Mentat: aspAddict: As much as I hate Lori's character, I didn't see them killing her off until she reconciled with Rick...or maybe that's what the half-smile across the prison yard was.Still...damn, Carl is hardcore.Rule 1 of Walking Dead: Rick gets no resolution.
Mentat: TheLopper: For mindless zombies who drag their feet everywhere and groan non-stop while moving at 1 MPH, they sure are good at sneaking up on people who should know better. To be fair, he was holding back a group of foot dragging, non-stop groaning walkers.
Why Would I Read the Article: Since the videogum guy stopped doing his writeups of this show, there's simply no reason to watch it anymore. The first two seasons were the most boring and infuratingly awful television in the history of the medium. You fooled me twice, shame on me. But there won't be a third time.
Voodoo_Stu: Any one else notice the zombies seem to hate mercy? This is at least the second person to go after being the only person arguing to not kill people earlier in the same episode.
Mentat: So to get rid of Lori we have to sacrifice T-Dogg? NOT FAIR WRITERS
HakunaMatata: I was thinking zombaby.Who put the deer meat/heart out and cut the fence? Was it the guy they found in the generator room?
