Took me literally 2 minutes to print out my estimation and I'll be bringing it to my dealer when I get my last free oil change for the 12 month period. I got the 2012 Veloster. It drives perfectly and the change is 1 MPG (the way I drive I'd never get the optimal MPG anyway). It sure looks like Hyundai fudged the numbers on purpose, but that just means they are a hungry company copying the American model of fake it until you make it. They got caught, just as anyone who has read about the MPG claims over the past 12 months knew they would.

I'll get my free oil change and get my $180 check in time to use on Christmas presents.

$218 for my 2012 Accent. Maybe Im not doing it right, but I seem to get excellent mileage regardless of what the window sticker was supposed to say. I do better than 40-43 mpg on the highway and almost that good in the city according to the little computer in the car. I too am ok with this.

If anyone actually double-checks what the reporter is saying in the article - he's right. If you go to the companies' respective home pages you'd be hard pressed to figure out that they've been hoodwinking their customers for years. And pay attention to the non-statement from the company:

I had no problem navigating that website. That "reporter" is just retarded.

I'm missing something here. I've read that MPG statements are prepared by a government agency and not the automobile manufacturers themselves.

Sadness: long ago before she was Mrs.Kritter future wife bought a Hyundai, one of the first in teh USA. I can't complain about her paying top farking dollar because being young and not having an established credit rating they screwed her on interest, and the BIL that went with her was a useless ass that stood there while she totally loaded out an economy car making it a very expensive and not worth it purchase. It was her first new car, she didn't know squat.

The part I can biatch about is while we were living together her Hyundai had a defective oil warning sending switch sensor. It gave a false reading that oil was not circulating. We had this switch replaced multiple times on the low mileage car. Back in the early days Hyundai did not have the incredible warrantees they are now known for.

So the 4th time this problem popped up she ignored the red light. Of course, there really was a problem with oil circulation this time. So at 37,500 miles (give or take) I had to pony up cash for a new engine and having it dropped in place. She was still making payments and was eternally broke.

I liked the look of the Tiburon and I love the new Veloster, so cool looking. But being screwed mightily by Hyundai years ago and taking it up the arse through my wallet, I doubt I will ever buy a Hyundai.

PS: you should have heard the comments salesman were making when she wanted back then to buy a new Tracker and she told them of her Hyundai trade-in. one guy who offered her $50.00 trade-in, i had to physically hold her back - she lunged right across the desk at the bastard.

Yes my neighbor was outraged to discover his giant sedan with the V8 in it that came in a racing spec might not quite get the mileage as advertised.

Oh, I never had any illusions. The 8-speed transmission does help a ton with highway mileage, though.

I do wish the MPG calculator inside the car was more accurate, though. It's between 2 and 4 MPG high (i.e. 28MPG indicated, 25-ish MPG actual).

Because it probably costs them $0.25 per room per day for them to say "complimentary paper". I'm sure they'll ween themselves from it, but hotels love having a long list of things they provide to you, but you probably don't need or want. I mean, honestly... How often do you take advantage of the "complimentary breakfast"? I just pack my sh*t and hit the next grease joint I see.

It'll get removed as more people use tablets and such. Then they'll just change the font-size so it doesn't look like they removed anything. Clever bastards, those hoteliers.
