Both. Two great tastes....especially if the onions are caramelized.

Onions are good in the raw, not caramelized. Garlic is only for pizza, and then just powdered.

Churning stuff would fit right into my 19th century lifestyle while I wait for the power and heat to come back.

Only the garlic is that upon which can ward off the Jesuits who are attempting to do the killing of all of the America country and for this reason I am going to have the preference of garlic because listen I do not know if there is something upon which the onion would do this for although if I wish for the gumbo I would delight in the onion very much. I am very much looking forward to the other responses of you all others. I am thinking because many of you are bigger people who must lose the weight we might wish for the engaging conversating about this very much LAUGHTER OL.

Garlic is great for the heart and blood pressure and anti-coagulation. Garlic is great in pasta dishes and then there's skordalia, which is heaven.
Onions are great on hot dogs and burgers and meatloaf.
I'd give the nod to garlic.

If I either either of them I will need to use a restroom quite urgently. Putting that aside, I don't see a reason to choose one or the other. Why can't I have onion soup and a garlic knot at the same time?

I'm Mediterranean/Middle Eastern. Asking me to choose between onions and garlic is like asking an American to choose between cheese and bacon. It's unpossible.

Garlic is a flavoring only. Onions are a flavoring, and if cooked properly a garnish (like lettuce). So onions are more flexible.

Same here, but at the end of the day it has to be garlic. a dish without onion is sad, but without garlic? Travesty.
