Maybe they're anonymous because they really, really like the GOP but they are too shy to say so?

Or not.

2012-11-03 04:25:58 PM
Further evidence that it's embarrassing to associate with Republicans in this day and age.

2012-11-03 04:35:44 PM
And conversely, I'd also be willing to bet that the ratio between the number of anonymous Republican donors to anonymous Democratic donors is 1:4.

/ a few billionaires giving lots of money? In my campaign? It's more likely than you think...

I wouldn't think Anonymous would be right wing. They don't seem to like government much at all, to be honest

They're wasting it on Romney. He is going to lose.

Because Democrats have no shame.

I donated a total of $24.00 to Ovama's campaign, and $10.00 to Elizabeth Warren although I live in Ohio.

I'd be thrilled to have these published an available to the public. My only regret is being unable to give more.

I don't support people that I feel ashamed of.

2012-11-03 06:23:20 PM
Well those donors are just job creating. Spinsters, shysters, and various lobbyists are now getting lots of work!

Why do you hate America, subby?

One thing I learned this election cycle is that a Libertarian is a strong-willed, independently-minded, self-reliant person who carefully considers both sides of every issue until they find a way to rationalize supporting the Republican position.

Probably not for less than $100. State- and Local-Level PACs in CA are required to report contributions of more than $100 (total) from any individual in a calendar year.

SO??? This is probably why they broke it off with Wikileaks!!!! So they could help attack Benghazi and blame it on Fartbongo! Wake up sheeple!!!!1

I was wondering about that. Does he just get to keep the money like Sarah Palin does?

And yes, I know it's not technically Mitt's money. Just like he has ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL over the money that goes to his super PACs...

Who cares about the heavy influence of corporate money in politics as long as your side wins, right?

SN1987a goes boom: So these anon donors could be anyone?

/Why won't the GOP disclose their donor list and dispell rumors that they are being funded by Al Qaeda?

Maybe anonymous Republican donors are simply afraid of reprisals. For example, they've probably heard about or read for themselves the liberal "compassion and love" shown here on Fark, and the thousands of death threats and riot threats on Twitter. Remember that restaurant in LA where the owner received death threats because the publicly supported the anti-gay marriage initiative? Are you familiar with the "Shy Tory Effect"? Link Consider the cumulative psychological effect of news coverage over the years (of admittedly outlier events) such as pictures of armed Black Panthers at polling places, street riots against business meetings, leftist demonstrations where effigies are burned and speech is violent, and so on and so on and so on. Seriously, people, actions and words have consequences. Is it any wonder that if you threaten and condemn a certain group of people enough that they take their support underground?

lol. Republicans have guns nshiat and they're afraid of reprisals from hippy liberals?

More likely that they are hiding their numbers, namely the likelihood that there are relatively few extremely wealthy people bankrolling the Republicans in this election.

That really tells you something about the Republican party. If it wasn't for people trying to buy the election, the ignorant easily manipulated voters who make it possible, Romney wouldn't have a chance.

2012-11-03 07:07:35 PM
They're anonymous not because they don't want others to know that they're donating to the GOP, but because the GOP doesn't want to be associated with such low-lifes. And vice versa, so they're both happy that the donations are anonymous.

Well why aren't there just as many anon. Dem. Contributions? With all the talk of "Second Amendment solutions," anecdotes of employers firing people who vote Democratic, etc., which are also admittedly outliers? Don't Democrats have plenty of reprisals to fear too?

2012-11-03 07:09:54 PM
With all this anon money available, why aren't Republican's running away with elections? Something must be hampering them from setting or changing a given narrative.

Some people are concerned about the influence of a very few really rich people on our alleged democracy.

They're called "not Republicans"

Indeed. So many closet racists in this country. Obama took out OBL!! Remember? The same OBL Dubya "wasn't too concerned about, to tell you the truth," he even dissolved the CIA office tasked with tracking OBL in 2005.

Assholes being assholes is nothing new, nor is it restricted to any particular "side" of the political arena. It does seem that in recent years "conservatives" have become real pants-wetting scaredy-cats, though.

For some reason, "conservatives" LOVE to be scared. The more ridiculous the claims coming from their high-school dropout media idols, the more they tune in and buy their shiatty books. Time to ask yourselves why you take these clowns seriously when they are ALWAYS WRONG, and why you fear a race riot because some anonymous douchebag tweets about it.
