I'm so GLAAD that I was sitting down when I read that, because I'm stoned, really.

Why is that subby? Why do you think journalists are siding with Obama instead of Romney?

Show your work.

Herp that derp, chucklenuts.

Gee, it's almost as if the people most closely following the election have come to a conclusion about which candidate is the better man to lead this country. How dare they form an opinion?

"It's very simple: I think Romney is a dangerous religious freak whose election will cripple America," said Levy, who has donated $225 to Obama this year. Levy says his political donations don't pose a conflict of interest because he doesn't write about politics.

Same reason I donated. Journalists can't donate or participate in the electoral process. But corporations? Spend all you want. That's the American way.

An ESPN reporter donated to Obama? I'm outraged! I turn to ESPN for all my fair and balanced election coverage.

Which is of course why media stories about the President are almost universally negative.

A strange choice, since Romney's such an aficionado of sport.

Next we'll be hearing about why military members can't donate to politicians...oh right, no we won't because there's a slight lean to Republicans.

Yes, let's all wring our hands over $250 donations by journalists. Meanwhile, in SCOTUS land, your corporate overlords laugh at your concern.

I'm an educator. I have the ability to mold the minds of America's youth. Does this mean I'm not allowed to donate because I could be swaying the vote for the next 12-20years?

Because I sure as f%ck hope I am.

That is the most ridiculous electoral map I've seen this season. Romney taking OREGON?! Umm, no. Never happen in a billion years. Obama could get on tv and start shooting babies with a shotgun and he's still got Oregon, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, and Michigan.

I think it will come down to Ohio, Colorado, Northern Virginia's turnout (if low, VA will go to Romney), and maybe Nevada. But Obama has this one locked up, I do believe.

IMO, before MSNBC gave Rachel Maddow a show, ESPN was probably the only major media outlet that I would actually have considered "liberal media". All their human interest stories are just so touchy-feely. Maybe not so much now with the Tebow stuff.

The Wall Street Journal's political and civic activities policy states that "all news personnel ... should refrain from partisan political activity," including "making a financial contribution to a candidate's campaign."

Two things.

First, this rule is dumb as a bag fulla blonde hair cut from the heads of an assortment of FOX News NILFs.

Second, WSJ pretending to be bipartisan before Murdoch bought and ruined the rag is one thing but trying that shiat now? Srsly?

/Nice trolly headline though, that'll get a few bites.

SO... for people that don't RTFA

An arts reporter for the WSJ gave Obama $225

A New York Daily News editor gave Obama $250

Editor and Chief Executive Officer of the Observer Media Group gave Romney contributed to the Romney Victory Fund (amount not specified)

An ESPN anchor gave Obama $25,000

An LA newscaster bought some Obama t-shirts.

A guy who works for a specialist tax publication gave Obama $250.

An editor of the Columbia Journalism Review gave Obama $250

A Bloomberg employee's wife gave Obama $2,000 from a joint checking account.

Two members of the Washington Times editorial board gave Romney an unspecified amount.

A photographer for the Newark Star-Ledger gave Obama money.

A medical news analysis publication editor gave Obama money.

An "Innovations Editor" at Slate gave Obama $252.

WOW... so if this is what corruption looks like in the media.. I think we have a pretty non-corrupt system. Talk about a giant nothingburger. Honestly if I was this person's editor I would say "look, you have to rewrite this to talk about how little you found, then focus your reporting on the few instances that might actually be important (the editorial people, the Daily News employee, the CJR editor). Otherwise who cares.

... of course maybe you can just get the story linked on Fark with a provocative headline and you'll get enough hits on this crappy story to make this piece of crap worth publishing.

Of course we will just ignore that the person in control of a large segment of the US media recently threatened a sitting governor for working with Obama....

2012-11-03 02:15:30 PM
Yeah they're so "in bed" with the Obama campaign they let us know how much he "farked up" the first night of the debate, that the "country isn't sure about Obamacare," that there are "concerns" about his economic track record, that he didn't have "enough experience to be President."

Yeah. F*ck the media.

2012-11-03 02:17:17 PM
So we have details down to the dollar on what individual people in the field of journalism donated to Obama and Romney, but we have to be okay with total anonymity when corporations (who are also people, my friend) donate undisclosed millions? America is retarded.
