Hopefully any mass outpouring of support to people who have been made slightly uncomfortable and inconvenienced by Sandy will spill onto people who live in complete poverty and fear every minute of their lives. Homeless people have been without power for more than a minute - charging their phones isn't a concern. People of NYC got to see what a shelter looks like -- let's hope they do more than blog about it.

Why is charging their phone not a concern? Do homeless people have really bigassed batteries or something?

the homeless have those really huge old radio shack phones that are the size of bricks. they recharge them from the oversize batteries in Mercedes-Benz's parked on the streets late night. they do what they have to do, and they manage to get by, poor reception and all

What about their ipad? How do they charge that? I can't begin to imagine the stress that living charge by charge must bring.

Most of the homeless I see on a daily basis charge their phones from a lamppost in the park. It seems like a pretty flawless system.

It's because he's tapping that young yoga instructor.

I may not like all of his movies, but he seems to be a cool guy. Unlike many other celebs, he actually lives in the community so it seems genuinely about helping and not a photo shoot. Kudos

Of all the things they could have picked to call him, why on earth did they pick "zoolander star". Probably the least funny thing he has done.

Seems like a genuinely good guy.

He held his own onstage with simple nursery rhyme level skills over a chorus that repeated the name of the song? Wow, and Eminem sucks up all the credit for us white people.
