Connecticoonts?

2012-11-02 12:51:07 PM
New Yorkers.

2012-11-02 01:12:14 PM
As usual

You know, as a guy who hasn't been able to get to the office this week due to UI's power outage, UI is awful. There's relatively little damage in this area of Connecticut and the power is still out. Meanwhile, the power is coming back on in Atlantic City.

Nutmeggers become eggers.

The female of the species prefers Connecticuties.

In Bridgeport? I'm not surprised.

Connecticoonts?

Hmm, that was a repeat...

2012-11-02 03:23:58 PM
Funny, a co-worker told me about this and I said, CT huh? Greenwich or Bridgeport?

2012-11-02 04:00:40 PM
It's not like the guys up in the buckets are deciding where and when they're going to work. If you need to pelt someone with eggs, try the UI executive parking lot.

2012-11-02 04:13:38 PM
Stay classy, Bridgeport.

Gecko Gingrich: New Yorkers.

Connecticut gets the best of New Yorkers and Massholes. The creme de la creme.

/Connecticutlets?

I thought utility workers always had police escorts in Bridgeport.

2012-11-02 04:17:20 PM
Half of Connecticut loses power during an ordinary thunderstorm, so this is hardly a surprise.

2012-11-02 04:17:29 PM
If I was the power company workers and they started throwing eggs at me, I'd leave. If they want their power restored, they can be respectful. They don't have to be happy, they can complain loudly, but the line workers putting in long shifts are not the guys to throw eggs at.

I swear, between this and the story about both parties lawyering up, and being shoulder to shoulder with tea party activists and other people with extreme views, I start to wonder if we are headed toward an honest to goodness civil war. Not a military conflict mind you, something much more drawn out and damaging.

Things just seem to be drifting further and further apart, at the same time our core problems are getting worse and worse. problems that will require consensus and shared sacrifice to truly solve.

Hopefully a month or two after the election dies down I'll be able to ignore it for a few years, but if this election is contested for any length of time, watch out. It seems like it could get very very ugly.

\hope I'm being glass half empty guy.

What a bunch of pricks. If I was in charge of that utility's repair crews, I'd not only pull them out, I'd put the area the eggers live in as the bottommost priority. Let them (and their eggs) rot.

Connecticuter? I've lived here almost 50 years and I don't think I've ever heard anyone use that. It has always been nutmeggers

The power co. should put them back on the list - dead last.

Talk about biting the hand that feeds, what a bunch of dimwit whiners.

You had plenty of warning, you should've GTFO of town.

We're talking about Bridgeport here... SSDD..

2012-11-02 04:19:13 PM
Let them live in the dark.

Don't restore power at all.

"I'm sorry, our utility company is no longer going to serve this area as we cannot keep our crews safe. Please contact someone else to get your power grid from, as we will be taking our equipment with us"

Bridgeport is a hole. Why is this even news?

In every civilized country, utility cables are buried under ground. My relatives in Europe can't believe that the US has such a primitive electric/phone system.

5 whole days without power? I am not a big fan of the term but that is some serious 1st world problem action right there.

LOL. Yes, Teabaggers are sure to lead everyone in a revolt. Because if there's anyone that's going to riot, it's a wealthy, overweight, fifty-year old white guy.

Seriously, I realize that most marketing and media is now fear-based, but this is nowhere near the most fractured our country has ever been. Not even close. This too shall pass.

CT = Nutmeg state. However:

"There is not, however, any nickname that has been officially adopted by the State for its residents."

so you can continue to call them, "those assholes".

"I learned it from you, dad New York.....I learned it from you!"

Having been born in Bridgeport like my father, and his father before him, I wholeheartedly agree. There's a reason why I bugged the fark out of that state as soon as I turned 18.

Priapetic: so you can continue to call them, "those assholes".

What gave you the impression I was a New Yorker?

They had the good sense to not be in Massachusetts, and aren't boring enough for Rhode Island. I'm okay with those them there Nutmeggers.

Fissile: In every civilized country, utility cables are buried under ground. My relatives in Europe can't believe that the US has such a primitive electric/phone system.

Think about how large the USA is compared to any country in Europe. They have to install a lot more infrastructure, and digging up hundreds of thousands of miles of dirt to lay utility cables simply isn't cost effective.

Even with the cables underground, the power is still going to go out if a transformer blows up.

2012-11-02 04:26:54 PM
Well, that makes sense. The 1% (management) tell the 99% (the linemen) what and where to fix, so the linemen's fellow 99% throw shiat at them while they do what they are told to do - thereby delaying all efforts which ultimately delays the 99% areas from getting fixed too. What a bunch of dumb asses. That's like donkey punching her before you stick it in.

2012-11-02 04:27:14 PM
That's real smart, because linemen decide the locations they're told to go... farking idiots.

2012-11-02 04:27:46 PM
"Clearly people took to heart what they heard, even though it was not factual," West said of the reported incidents Wednesday. "We don't choose favorites."

That's not exactly true. My power's been out since Monday (suburb outside of Bridgeport), and while all of the stores and businesses in the town have been restored my whole residential neighborhood is still untouched. There's probably some sort of valid reason to get them up and running first, but you don't get to also say you aren't choosing who you fix first.

2012-11-02 04:29:36 PM

Priapetic: Masshat?

That was just a few moments shy of a keyboard debt moment.

I was fishing more for the non-ass joke related demonym.

2012-11-02 04:30:13 PM
So, Connectitucky is the New Jersey of the Mass and NY crowd?

2012-11-02 04:30:35 PM
These crews are scrambling as fast as they can and people are flipping out and they need to simmer down.
I'm sure it will all go over easy if they just enjoy the sunny side after the storm, and stop scortching each other.

2012-11-02 04:30:39 PM
What's wrong with Connecticans?

2012-11-02 04:31:57 PM

muck4doo: What's wrong with Connecticans?

Never met one?
They are similar to Massholes, but they generally can pronounce the letter "R"
Slightly wealthier and just as courrupt and self entitled.

2012-11-02 04:32:45 PM
I highly doubt the linemen make the schedule. Maybe people should go egg the electric company owners. I got my rich biatch smasher (aka a brick) ready for when the revolution starts.

2012-11-02 04:32:50 PM
This is like the idiots that yell at the cashier. Go to the head of the company morons, these are people trying to make money.
