Via Infinito: Zarquon's Flat Tire: Warlordtrooper: Fark them. If Obama is reelected he should do everything in his power to screw over the people who didn't vote for him. For 4 years he has tried to compromise when the other side stood there and acted like spoiled children throwing a tempertantrum. If Obama is re elected its time to make a point. They had the chance to compromise and they didn't, its time for red states to suffer.

As a Democrat who lives in Georgia, fark you.

As a Democrat who lives in Georgia, he's got a point. We should move to Cali and let the South freaking secede already.

There's a character named Bobby Newport (played awesomely by Paul Rudd) who is running for city council because his powerful businessman father is grooming him for higher office. The guy's an idiot, he has no real ideas but his family's name and money gives him the best campaign in town. He's been handed everything and has never had to hold a real job, and in the last debate he basically threatens the whole town into electing him or else his father will lay off a bunch of townspeople.

Mitt needs to stop taking his cues from douchebag TV characters.

No, instead they were forced into the absolute bottom rung of capitalist society as wage slaves, often with worse quality of life than they "enjoyed" as slaves.

No real exaggeration there. The most wealthy and powerful people in the country, in some of the highest positions of power, seeking the end of the United States by starting a religious/racial world war meant to bring back jesus. That's about as grave a problem as could infect a society.

Why that hasn't been a prominent part of the Obama campaign since Day One is beyond me. That should have been the keystone of their entire campaign. "These are the guys we're running against. This is all they've done for the last two years. This has been behind everything they've said, thought or voted on. Are they the ones you want running the nation?"

Too bad so many people would have said "SURE!"

I realize you'll consider this garbage, but when Clinton left there was a path to be rid of the debt. Somehow we ended up spending all of that (5.5T or so) plus another 10T or so on W's watch. And we got lots to show for it. The smoldering wreck of an economy. But, you know. Blame the black guy for trying to spend a little to get shiat back on track.

You know why this statement kind of backfires, even if, god forbid, you actually are an "undecided" voter? Because Congress right now has the lowest approval rating I think it has ever had in its entire history. Everybody hates them. I don't think anyone thinks that Obama is entirely to blame for all the shiat they've been up to. And now Mittens comes along and says, "Oh yeah, elect me, I can totally work with these guys."

He's telling everybody that he's just as big of a scumbag as they are, and understands them perfectly.

I think you'll find that Obama's policies have more to do with the smoldering economy we have today than anything Bush did. Obama has had 4 years and what do we have to show for it?

I don't blame Obama for the bad economy because of his skin color. I blame Obama because he's more interested in playing golf, taking vacations, and sucking union ballz than fixing anything that helps America.

Raoul Eaton: Heraclitus: As Republicans realize we will NOT be returning to a nostalgic version of our history that never actually existed except in the fevered dreams of some old, impotent white guys, the 7 stages of grief are becoming apparent.

First there was shock and denial. "Where's the birth certificate?"

Second the pain and guilt. "We are being punished for gay illegal alien abortions"

Now the anger and bargaining begins. "Unless we change course, we may well be looking at another recession"

Fourth, after the election depression will rear its ugly head.

Fifth, they will eventually come to terms with reality.

Sixth, they will try to get back in the game and become relevant again.

Seventh, Acceptance and Hope, they will realize that Universal Healthcare is NOT the worst thing that can happen to a country.

I would counsel patience for our fellow Americans as they work through their issues.

The rest of us will be getting on with our lives.

They're not going to work through the issues. For some of them, resentment is a career; for others it's a lifestyle. Either way they're stuck in it. But yeah, the rest of us to have to move on.

Yeah, hoping they will come to terms with reality is a bit of a stretch.
