If that is the case, they should just shut down the CMAs completely because country music is literally a neverending minefield of angst and sorrow. I'm not much of a fan of country, but I do listen to it on occasion and I'll be the first to tell you that adult angst country-pop songs aren't any more tolerable than their teen counterparts.

Much of country music is a catalog of the causality and condition of arrested development.
